Massage with Reiki

>> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Massage is the most popular complementary therapy. Instinctively, we just know that the therapeutic massage touch is good for us. A massage helps your blood and lymph circulation, helps keep you supple, helps keep your sinuses clear, and has many effective benefits.

And there is something really nice about the caring touch of your massage therapist. It feels good to be stroked, kneaded, and pampered. Naturally, a massage affectionado is keen to enjoy their regular massage, as you should.

Sometimes, we want more than a massage and still want the personal touch and the physical massage benefits. Perhaps we are a bit low physically or emotionally, feel out of sorts, need clearer thinking, or just need some extra TLC. This is when it is great to have a massage therapist who also practises Reiki.

Reiki is what in complementary therapy is called an energy. Energy healing involves your body's electromagnetism and so helps balance your mind and body's energetic flow. Often referred to as hands-on healing, it usually involves the channelling of healing through the healer's hands. Reiki can be felt as hot, cold, tingly, sometimes like a breeze or a wave, and may be felt near the healer's hands or at a different location. Reiki goes to where it is most needed, which may or may not be where you expect healing to occur. As with massage, occasionally there is a healing reaction or an emotional release, although this soon passes. Reiki is very gentle and suitable for everyone.

A Reiki session can be easily integrated into your massage treatment. Your massage and Reiki practitioner can provide your regular massage, then cover you snugly with towelling and add a half-hour Reiki session at the end. Or the session can start with massage, have a break and allow the Reiki to flow, and finish with massage as usual. Sometimes with physical ailments, your practitioner may choose to have breaks in the massage for Reiki when encountering an old injury for that extra energetic oomph. Some practitioners start with a 10-minute Reiki to centre and relax you then carry on with the massage as usual.

To get the real deal and the best benefit from the Reiki, ensure that your practitioner literally stops the massage strokes whilst applying Reiki. If you need to pay more for this or have less time for the actual massage, that is OK. Avoid the Reiki-flowing-during-the-massage idea. Whilst it is more powerful than a massage on its own, it is a false economy. You get more for your money when the Reiki is allowed to flow on its own for a while. The best way to find out what you get is to ask first.

Like having a massage, a massage with Reiki is a personal experience. It differs from person to person and from session to session. You may find the results so enjoyable, you make it a regular treat. And if you are only going to treat yourself once this month, a massage with Reiki is highly recommended.

Complementary and alternative health education and empowerment is my passion. My name is Suzanne Zacharia and I am committed to empowering people to take control of their health and wellness. A virus caught along with 5 other students at university at the end of 1986, plus medical negligence, meant that I got smokers lung at a relatively young age. In desperation for help with my symptoms and quality of life, I turned to complementary therapy, and this is the 11th year I have outlived one doctor's prognosis. I am now a complementary therapist, author and trainer. My company is called New Age London, which includes myself and carefully-chosen expert practitioners, teachers and trainers of alternative complementary health. People have come from Iceland, Norway, the States, France, Italy, and Pakistan to train with us or to learn natural, effective techniques for their and their families' health. Our clinics are as environmentally-friendly as possible, and our treatments are very natural.

    Reiki Master

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The practice of Reiki is taught through various schools, Reiki institutions and covers the various branches of Reiki. Irrespective of the branch the instruction of Reiki is taught in a degree system that is, an individual has to cross different levels or degrees to achieve the status of a Reiki Teacher or Reiki Master. Usui Reiki is taught in three levels with an additional level for becoming Masters or teachers of this craft. A Reiki Master is a person who has undertaken the practice of Reiki as a lifelong commitment and is thoroughly ingrained in the thoughts, ideals and values of the system. Only a person completing the Master Degree or Level is qualified to teach Reiki to others, s/he receives a special Master Attunement and is capable of performing Reiki Attunements for Levels 1, 2 and 3. Gaining mastery is not merely completing a level or obtaining a degree it involves constant evolution on the part of the Master and years of study and dedication to learning and practice alike. There is a great responsibility on a Master and every teacher will have a different method of teaching this art and it is often noticed that people may choose to apprentice under different Masters to gain a more complete understanding and grow under different methodologies and schools of thought.

The term Master comes from the Japanese word Sensei which means Master but more in the form of Teacher or doctor better defined as a Reiki Doctor or a Teacher of Reiki, though it is often said that in Japan a Teacher would not refer to himself as Sensei but rather prefer to use the word Shihan. A Shihan is a person with the knowledge to teach Reiki to others but it is difficult to give a measure of wisdom and expertise, it is something that differs from Teacher to Teacher and thus choosing the correct teacher is a very delicate task. Becoming a Reiki Master does not really require any educational qualifications but it is a must to be constantly practicing Reiki and be willing to devote a lot of time and energy apart from a genuine desire to teach Reiki to others. However it is important to remember that in this last phase most schools give out written notes unlike the previous levels in order to help a new Teacher on their journey and though it is up to the Teacher to decide to use it or not it is essential for the candidate to be able to learn and work with theoretical material and also for completing written assignments.

Lastly learning Reiki is a very personal experience. Some may require more time than others to fully absorb and be able to integrate and it is perfectly okay to do so. There are a lot many teachers or internet sites that will make unrealistic promises but it is up to the learner to question himself whether or not they are ready to take the vow. A Reiki Master is a person who is not in the noble vocation of teaching Reiki but also a person who is seeking enlightenment and is a person with a spiritual lifestyle with a special call to serve the community.

    Initiation In Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The Reiki Level 1 Attunement or Initiation opens up the physical body and makes it a channel for Reiki energy to flow through it. An initiation process doesn’t take a lot of time as one might assume, though it can be different it take to a maximum of 20-30 minutes and makes a person “high” and greatly increases the spiritual vibrations in the body to a point where the initiate’s energy merges with the One. The Reiki Level 2 Attunement or Initiation is for the subtle body or the aura. The three sacred symbols of Reiki are disclosed to the initiate and this attunement gives the initiate even a higher level of energy vibrations and is said to increase psychic vibrations. The Master Initiation is a process after which a person achieves the status of Mater and is now able to teach Reiki and initiate others into the art.

Though initiation is just a ritual, its powers keep developing over time and mature with time and experience and constant practice of this healing system.

Reiki initiations are a main focus Reiki. They help us to understand the standing of the novice entering into the Reiki clan. Also they define the starting point at which the initiate opens up their personal energies to the Universe. In this way they can invite unlimited healing energies from the Universe and raise their vibrations to a frequency that attunes with the Universal Consciousness. Therefore they can become more sensitive to not only other Reiki healers across the planet but also Reiki guides in the form of spirits from the astral plane.

The actual number of initiations are different for the different branches of Reiki. For the original style of Reiki there are four initiations in the First Level, one in the Second Level and a last one for the Master Level after which it is possible for the Master to perform initiations for the First Level or First Degree initiates. The power of an Attunement or Initiation lasts with a person for life; it is not something that can wear away with time.

    Reiki Certification

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki certification is not merely a certificate but is a treasure that is a measure of hard work, perseverance and personal growth and transformation. One of the things that are a necessity for Reiki practitioner is a certification wherein their school, their Master or Masters as may be the case and their level is declared, this is a way to sift the genuine from the fake, always receive Reiki from a certified practitioner only. Every different “school” or tradition follows a different line of belief and thus while some schools may offer 3 levels, there are others who offer four and some even go up to a higher number of seven and above. This is basically a gradation of the levels of proficiency in channeling Reiki energy and the different techniques that bring more adeptness.

Primarily there are the three levels or degrees. Here’s a basic overview of what the levels entail, note that is for a basic course containing 4 levels and it may vary from school to school and from Master to Master.

First Degree (Level 1) Reiki: In the beginning level you an expect information like a brief history of Reiki, its lore and mythos, importance and about the various different traditions and branches and worldwide Reiki associations. Self-healing methods are also taught along with the various hand positions and practical applications of Reiki in daily life.

Second Degree (Level 2) Reiki: Only after the initiate has successfully completed Level 1 and have been successfully practicing Reiki can enroll for Level 2 which is more advanced and requires greater channeling proficiency. In this level the first three sacred Reiki symbols are taught with their origins, meanings and the techniques to utilize them to their fullest. Also techniques for absentee or distance healing and healing mental disorders are also imparted at the Second Degree Level.

Third Degree (Level 3) Reiki: Far more advanced this level covers Personal Mastery and intuitive methods and people who have been continuously working with Reiki energy and feel ready to make a transition. Students at this level are taught to build energy grids and work with crystals for continuously sending out positive Reiki energy into the world to promote world peace and bring about harmony and balance. Working with psychic energy blocks and removing chakra blocks and healing the aura are also part of this level.

Master or Teacher Level Reiki: This is for students who wish to teach Reiki to others. This is a very high level and is available to only a privileged few. Attunement techniques and gaining more energy are included in the lessons along with integrating Reiki as a way of life. It needs a lifelong pledge to the system of Reiki. Some schools may like to break this level into smaller chunks to facilitate the learning process and dedicate more time and energy to singular tasks.

Furthermore in Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai's system of Reiho the proficiency levels are also divided accordingly where there are six levels of proficiency and there is a ranking scheme where six is the beginner’s level and it continues where the student gets acquainted with different Shoden techniques and at third rank Okuden or Second Degree techniques are taught which are broken down further into Okuden Zenki, Okuden Koeki and Shinpiden Levels, Dr.Usui placed himself at Rank 2. Till date no human has reached Rank 1 because that is reserved for the Divine. It is possible also to have more ranks and levels.

After the student has completed a level they are issued with a certification for that level. However Reiki does not merely depend on a certification, it is important to keep studying and practicing it on a regular basis to achieve a higher level.

    Reiki Instruction

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is a traditional Japanese form of hands-on healing. With the passage of time Reiki has long since broken its traditional face to emerge as a constantly evolving and dynamically contemporary therapy and as a way of life for many. If you wish to study Reiki you will find that there are various new branches for instruction in this medium. Practitioners go through various levels and earn degrees in order to get certified as a genuine Reiki practitioner. They may hail from different traditions and may have studied under many Masters. Generally the original form of Reiki was imparted in three levels or degrees with an additional level called a Master Degree or Master Level and only after completing which an initiate is eligible to teach Reiki to others. Let us have a look at some of the various branches of instruction in Reiki:

    Usui Shiki Ryoho:

This is the original branch started by Mrs. Takata. This is followed by Reiki Alliance Masters and solitaries alike. There are three degrees which is taught as an oral tradition with hardly any notes if any. The First Degree has four attunements, the history and mythos, hand positions and channeling Reiki energy for self-healing as well as healing others. The Second Degree teaches yet more attunements, three of the four sacred symbols, distance/absentee healing and healing mental and emotional disorders. The Master Degree has one attunement, the fourth sacred symbol is taught and techniques for initiations and channeling more energy are taught as also many other things.

    Raku Kei Reiki:

A Johrei Fellowship Practitioner (Jo Reiki) who was trained by Takata called Iris Ishikuro is said to have made a significant contribution to this branch of instruction. Raku Kei Reiki is also known as 'The way of the Fire Dragon'. It is made of the directional flow of energy where Raku stands for vertical flow and Kei stands for horizontal flow of energy. The First and Second Degree is taught as a single class and talk about a different history with a man named Rolf Jensen, hand positions, healing techniques, using Master Frequency plates and four traditional symbols, distance/absentee healing. Third Degree/ Reiki Sensei has attunements to all three levels, a breath technique known as "Breath of the Fire Dragon", 2 additional symbols, white light healing, using herbs and crystals for healing, Reiki Spinal Therapy. The Master Degree or Certified Reiki Sensei is for those who wish to teach or obtain Master status. This Class requires signing a contract with the American Reiki Master Association.

Tera Mai or Tera Mei Seichem:

This is an offshoot of the above Raku Kei Reiki with a few changes including energy activation of Sakara, Angelic light and Sophi-el. Kathleen feels that the energy of Reiki is very Earthy hence the name Tera. The lesson format is similar but there are additions like additional symbols, a water ceremony and a YOD initiation which is said to connect the initiate with the energies of the Arc of the Covenant.

    Usui/Tibetan Reiki:

This is a combination of Traditional, Raku Kei and Rand’s own understandings. The First and Second Degrees are taught as one class and are similar to traditional Reiki, a different history is taught and techniques taught in the traditional Usui Reiki like Energy Grids, Attunement Exercise and performing Chakra and Aura work and Psychic Surgery. Master/Teacher Degree is also similar but there are additions like Reiki III Meditation (using microcosmic orbit), 2 Tibetan initiatory symbols, attunement methods (like Raku Kei) to First, Second, ART and Master/Teacher plus a Healing Attunement, Violet Breath Exercise and other additional symbols. CEU's are available through the American Holistic Nurses Association (AHNA) and The National Certification Board of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) for nurses and massage therapists.

There are many others like Karuna Reiki, Seichem / Sekhem, Johrei Reiki, Jinlap Maitri Reiki, Ichi Sekai Reiki, Vajra Reiki, Satya Japanese Reiki, Blue Star Reiki, Golden Age Reiki, Ascension Reiki, Brahma Satya Reiki to name a few.

    Basic Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

This is a very simplified primer on basic Reiki. It’s intended as a basic lesson to help someone get started channeling the energy and in no way should be considered a Reiki Course in itself.

    What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese phrase which means “Universal Energy”. Its history is enshrouded in myth, legend and parable, but the simple fact is, it works. Reiki is simply the process of channeling Universal Energy through oneself and into some one (or something) else. The vast range of uses for Reiki range from healing oneself to opening and balancing the Chakras and even charging objects and food with the energy.

    Getting Started

Reiki is safe and simple to use. To get started simply sit or lie down in a comfortable position. Put on the music of your choice and relax. Place your hands over your face with your palms over your eyes. Touch your tongue to the roof of your mouth with the tip of your tongue just behind your front teeth.

As you inhale just open up and feel the energy flow down through the top of your head and down to your heart chakra, then feel it flow out along your arms and out through your hands and into your face. At the simplest level that ALL you have to do. The energy will go wherever it’s needed and do whatever is required of it. You don’t have to send it anywhere in particular or try to control it.

    Getting Deeper

Reiki flows through you simply by your ‘intent’. You just have to intend to open up to it and you’ll find it readily available. You may feel many different things while giving yourself a Reiki treatment. Your hands or the part of your body covered by your hands may get hot, cold or tingly. Some people feel it very easily and others take awhile to open up to it. The simplest explanation that I’ve found is to think of what the emotion ‘Love’ feels like, and then just relax and let it flow.

I always advise everyone to study Reiki. Any energy worker, massage therapist, healer, martial artist or metaphysician can greatly benefit from Reiki, and there are many FREE Reiki classes and sources of training available, as many of us try to make it as easily accessible as possible to anyone who wants it. I’ll soon be publishing a comprehensive Reiki course, including the symbols and hand positions, to the web as a PDF file that anyone can download and study, as well as a list of Reiki Master willing to do free attunements.

I hope this simple exercise helps some of you who’ve been interested in Reiki, but just haven’t made the leap into studying it yet.

    Reiki-Seichem

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Seichem - The Elemental Healing Rays

Since the emergence of Reiki at the beginning of the last century, and its introduction to the west, there have been many variations in the way energy healing is taught. As it has developed, people have added information and understandings and have also had similar experiences to that of Mikao Usui, the man who founded Reiki for the present time. This has created more names for energy healing than the Eskimos have for snow!

Energy healing works on the idea that the world is an energy system made from differing frequencies. The physical world is made from very dense frequencies which is why we can see them. Other energies such as microwaves, radio-waves, sound-waves and radiation are frequencies of energy that are less dense and so we cannot ordinarily see them. Around physical objects there is a frequency of energy that we do not ordinarily see, scientifically known as the electromagnetic energy field, or aura. It is in these layers of energy around animal and human bodies that are thought by many, for thousands of years, to contain emotions, thoughts and our connection with the universe. Scientific research is now finding ways to show this to be true.

Seichem is one type of energy healing that has become popular in the UK. Another form similar to Seichem, called Karuna, has also become very popular. There are other forms of healing called Sekhem, Seichim, and SKHM etc, which are actually different from Seichem in the way they are taught, but share similar roots. This group of energy healings have elements of Egyptian teachings, as in ancient Egypt energy healing was commonplace.

Seichem is passed on in a similar way to Reiki. It is understood that Reiki is a part of Seichem, being one (the earth element) of the four healing energies, which include, Sakara (fire element) Sophi-El (water element) and Angelic Light (air and spirit element). When we talk of the ‘elemental rays’ we are not talking of the physical manifestation or energy from the earth, fire, water or air (three dimensional substances), we are talking of energy frequencies that pervade the universe.

In Seichem teachings Reiki forms the foundation for the other healing rays grounding them all, and working on the physical and mental body. It is usually experienced as a deep heat or warmth.

Sakara is the fire elemental ray, bringing in a rainbow of protective light which surrounds the aura. Sakara is experienced as a hot tingling sensation like a mild electrical current, working well on the electromagnetic fields that create the aura.

Sophi-El is the water elemental ray and is experienced as waves of cool energy. This ray increases the practitioner’s psychic awareness and works well on emotional issues.

Angelic Light is a two-fold ray connecting to the elemental ray of air and the Angelic realm. It is experienced as a gentle breeze blowing at the finger tips, helping mental healing and enhancing the practitioner’s perception through the third eye.

Seichem treatments are carried out in the same way as a traditional Reiki treatment; the client is placed on a couch or a chair, and the practitioner channels energy through their hands to the client. The energy is not the practitioners, and therefore a practitioner would not be said to heal the client. The recipient’s body knows how much and where it wants these energies to go, thus allowing benefits to occur in the aspects of the person that are most in need. For example, it could be that someone has physical ailments, which may have been brought on by an emotional or mental aspect. The energies would most likely work on restoring balance to the emotions and mental states before the body can be alleviated of the physical symptoms.

Because the energy is not the practitioners, but energy that is found throughout the universe, the practitioner is also able to receive these energies for themselves, and also be able to give themselves a treatment in the same way as they would give to others. This is common to all channelled energy treatments and practices.

Many energy practitioners may feel the different energies described in Seichem teachings, even if they have not been taught by a Seichem teacher. It is my understanding that the healthier you are both physically, mentally and emotionally you will be able to channel whatever the healing frequencies or rays the recipient needs. By receiving Seichem “initiations” (procedures that allow you to open up to the healing rays), and indeed any energy initiation, you are clearing away any energy debris that prevent a person from being a clear channel. It is, however, up to the individual to ensure that they stay as clear a channel as possible to continue being of service to others. Indeed energies will be channelled no matter how much “debris” you have, but the clearer you are the more energy is allowed through.

So Seichem is one of many energy practices here for the population, and like many has its roots originating from Mikao Usui and ancient teachings. Because we are all made of the energies that a practitioner channels through, all physical, emotional and mental ailments can be treated. Seichem is a beautiful healing technique that uses the understanding of the elements within its teachings and allows practitioners and recipients a chance to bring themselves and their surroundings closer to balance.

    Reiki Energy

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The word "Reiki" is broken down into the two terms "Rei" and "Ki." It is difficult for some Japanese words to be translated into English. Having said this, it is important to understand the context of the term.

The word "Reiki" is used to denote a form of spiritual healing. Probably one of the best ways to describe Reiki is by the energy that is channeled through the practice. Energy is the central concept of Reiki, and all those who wish to learn this skill must become familiar with it. Ki can be defined as the energy that resides within all living organisms. This is not a physical form of energy. However, it will flow in living things like animals and plants.

When a human has a large amount of Ki, they will have excessive amounts of strength and confidence. They are much more likely to enjoy life, and they will be quick to face any challenges that are presented to them. However, once the Ki becomes small, a person will begin to feel weak. It is at this point that they will have a greater chance of becoming sick.

Ki will come from a wide variety of sources, and some of these are sunlight, food, and the air we take in. Many people will also meditate in order to enhance their Ki even more. Ki is called "Chi" in Chinese languages, and it is the same thing that is called the "life force" in the West.

Those who practice Reiki believe that Reiki taps into a life force that is guided by a superior intelligence. The energy seems to have a mind of its own, as it will flow to the places where a patient needs it the most.

The energy used with Reiki is not something that can be controlled by the mind. If it was, it would be limited by those who practice it. Those who practice Reiki believe that the source of healing is primarily caused by the Ki. The Ki will flow around and within the patient. The tissues and organs that it touches will become healthy, because they will become energized.

One interesting thing that should be noted about Ki is that it will react to the feelings and thoughts of those it comes into contact with. The strength of the Ki will be dependent on the thoughts. Negative thoughts will lead to the restriction of the Ki flow, while positive thoughts will lead to the increased flow of Ki. If your thoughts are too unhealthy, the flow of Ki may be completely disrupted altogether.

While the mainstream medical establishment has been slow to adopt any of the ideas that are used with practices such as Reiki, a number of doctors now admit that the mind will play a powerful role in generating an illness. This is something that Reiki practitioners have known for years.

The power of the mind will extend throughout the body, so it is logical to believe that it would have an effect on the physical well being of a person.

Energy is an important concept that you must understand if you wish to learn Reiki. You must understand the function of the aura, an energy field that surround the body. Reiki practitioners believe that the aura is an extension of the mind that goes beyond the body.

    What Is Reiki?

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is a Japanese energy healing method for the physical body that Dr. Mikao Usui in 1922 developed as a result of his enlightenment atop Mount Kurama in Kyoto, Japan. The system Usui developed for utilizing Reiki (energy) is known as Usui Reiki Ryoho. The term, Reiki, is a conjunction of two Japanese Kanji characters, Rei- meaning spirit- and Ki- meaning energy. Reiki is commonly referred to as Universal Life Force Energy, a natural method for healing the ailments of the physical body through the use of Reiki (energy) flowing through the hands of the healer into the body of the afflicted person, plant or animal. The ultimate goal of Reiki is a spiritual journey, to become enlightened in not only a physical manner, but also in an emotional, mental and spiritual way.

The energy comes from a higher power and the ‘healer’ is the conduit for this life force energy. The ‘Ki’ is the same description used for energy in martial arts’ Chi, from the Ancient Chinese term for the energy that unites the Universe, the underlying connection between all things. Much like in modern Quantum physics, which allows that all things (molecules, atoms, subatomic particles) are made of energy vibrations with different frequencies and are interconnected through thought and intention, the Ki or Chi flows through all things. Reiki is not associated with any religion and it is available for anyone to use or teach. It is similar to the idea of prayer, whether you are Christian, Jewish, Buddhist, Muslim, etc., when a person sends out energy to another person through meditative inner thought to heal or connect to the object of his or her prayer.

Reiki advocates spiritual growth, self-development and healthy living. One of the Reiki masters, Hawayo Takata who was taught by Dr. Mikao Usui coined the phrase ‘Reiki is first for you’. There are five basic principles associated with Reiki healing from the Usui Method.

    The 5 Reiki Precepts (Principles)

    As supplied by Hyakuten Inamoto

    Today only

    Do not anger

    Do not worry

    With thankfulness

    Work diligently

    Be kind to others

Another interpretation by Hawayo Takata of the 5 Reiki Precepts (Principles)

Just for today, thou shall not anger

Just for today, thou shall not worry

Just for today, we shall count our blessing

(Just for today) Do our work honestly

(Just for today) To be kind to all things that have life.

The goal of Reiki is to make oneself whole again through the energies of love, harmony and healing. Reiki is practiced worldwide with, reportedly, more than five million people using the technique for mind/body/soul development. The goal of Reikiho is to attain a state of spiritual peace and happiness, which is labeled Anshin Ritsumei- the ideal state of wholeness an individual has when he or she is born into this world. Healing the body and mind through hands-on Reikiho is the first step towards spiritual growth.

A Reiki healing session is performed simply by placing the hands upon the individual to be healed with the strong intention and concentration on the part of the practitioner for the Universal Life Force Energy to flow through her or him. It is believed that this intention for energy to flow into the afflicted person will, in a sense, have a mind of its own. The energy will flow through the practitioner and provide the person being healed the proper amount of Reiki needed.

    Usui Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is a system of natural healing that was founded by Dr. Usui Mikao hence it is also called Usui Reiki after it’s founder. Dr. Usui or Usui Sensei as he is called was a staunch Buddhist who studied esoteric ancient Tibetan and Sanskrit scrolls and meditated on Mount Kurama on the outskirts of Kyoto, Japan. Dr. Usui was also a member of the Rei Jyutu Ka, a metaphysical group dedicated to developing psychic abilities and performing esoteric practices that were looked down upon by traditional monasteries. He was said to have achieved enlightenment there and he synthesized the teachings of Japanese Esoteric Buddhism with Indian and Chinese medicines to form his own brand of healing in which the Universal Healing Light energy was channeled and directed to perform healing. Thus Reiki does not work on merely the physical body but on the subtle body and at the soul level to bring about change. Western medicine treated the physical manifestation of a problem but Reiki treated the problem by correcting the energies in the body or “Ki” and aligning it with the Universal energy to completely cure a disease that were caused by such energy imbalances in the mind, body or spirit.

Soon Dr. Usui’s healing method became very popular in Japan and he traveled throughout the country to teach his skill and perform Reiki Empowerments. Dr. Usui also set up a Reiki Association called the The Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai where the word Gakkai meant Association and this was the first formal Reiki association and even today it maintains the traditional teachings of Dr. Usui Mikao. He was the first president of this organization and after his death the presidency was given to his best friend, Mr. Ushida.

However this was a time when the West was still unaware of this method healing. Though Usui Reiki or Usui Reiki Ryoho as it was called was the original system of Reiki, over the years it has traveled to the West where practitioners have merged this system with other esoteric healing practices to form many other branches of Reiki which are practiced today. Usui Reiki was bought to the West by a lady called Mrs. Hawayo Takata who lived in Hawaii. She was visiting her realtives in Japan when she came upon this form of healing by a student of Dr. Usui’s namely Dr. Hayashi. She underwent treatment everyday for four months for some serious ailments she was suffering. After four months not only was she completely cures but was very impressed by this form of healing. She learnt this form of treatment from him and soon after an Attunement from him in 1938 she began practicing this when she returned to America. She initiated twenty-two Reiki Masters in America and this list has continued to grow and branch out and continuously evolve like a chain reaction.

Dr. Usui wanted to create a spiritual form of healing that was without the denomination of religion or any other boundary. Reiki can be practiced as a way of life without disturbing any religious practices.

    Reiki Training

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is a form of healing that openly invites people from all walks of life. Not just to enjoy the therapeutic benefits of this great system but also to learn and pass on this gift of life and love to others. Undergoing Reiki training is like walking an extremely spiritual path made of Light. There are various degrees or levels in Reiki which define the different steps of evolvement of an initiate form Level 1 to the Level of a Reiki Master. These are different for the different forms of Reiki involving three in the Usui system of Reiki to up to seven levels or more. Reiki training can only be given by a trained Reiki Master.

A Reiki training basically involves a certain part of the art that us broken down into levels which have a certain syllabus that is taught in each level. This again can change from one institute to the next and from Mater to the other. In the Usui system, there are three Levels or Degrees. In the first level, the student receives up to four attunements and is now able to channelise Reiki energy for themselves and s/he can use this for healing themselves or others. In the second level only one attunement is given and the student is taught the three of the four sacred symbols of Reiki, now the flow of energy becomes even more stronger. The third level or the Master’s level is an extremely difficult training that an initiate has to go through to achieve the status of Master. After receiving a Master attunement the initiate can teach Reiki to others and perform initiations for level 1. The time period for learning Reiki isn’t a fixed quotient, it too may differ and many schools or Masters require their student applying for the Master level to do an apprenticeship for a year’s time to ensure that they are committed and ready to take on a challenge and responsibility that will last for life.

A recognized institution will also offer a certificate to their students on the successful completion of the training. During training there are some schools that are more like Reiki ashrams and might require you to stay there and practice a complete detoxification of the system and require a certain lifestyle that is ascetic in nature. Though this is not an absolute requirement but it is said to heighten the power of the training process especially at the Master stage. For others it is advisable to practice a natural and a ‘sattvic’ lifestyle a week to at the very least three days before an attunement. This may include giving up meat, alcohol and ‘tamasic’ foods or even fasting and giving up modern amenities.

Lastly, a Reiki training is something that remains with a person for a lifetime and the student should respect the value of this treasure. It is something that can only grow and evolve into something more beautiful and stronger with the passage of time. It is not something that ends with a certificate, in fact obtaining a certificate only strengthens the intent for putting out healing and compassion into this world.

    Karuna Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The word Karuna is a Sanskrit word that means Compassion. Reiki as an art for healing is used to take away suffering and illness of others and is thus said to be ‘the Path of Karuna’ and thus also ‘the Path of Compassion’. Reiki is a spiritual path that is without denomination of race, religion, caste or creed and acknowledges all beings as equals without any distinctions and therefore it is a path that welcomes each one of us with Love and Compassion. It extends the need to share the wounds and heal these wounds and remove the sorrow of each and every one alike and do unto others just as you would unto yourself. When compassion comes together with prayer and wisdom it is a very powerful tool to bring about healing and this is the teaching of the Buddha. Karuna is the life force behind all the beings on this Earth who work with higher spiritual beings and the path of the Light Workers who continue to send unending healing Reiki energy into the world in order to end the suffering and strife in this world. Developing Karuna or Compassion within yourself opens you up to this positive energy sent by the enlightened beings but also speeds up healing and helps the individual to become yet more compassionate and loving. This is the power of Karuna and this is the energy that is channeled and directed by Karuna Reiki that is said to not only flow from you but heals both the practitioner and the patient by encompassing both the giver and receiver of Karuna.

This new branch of Reiki was started by William Lee Rand in around 1989 who received certain non-Usui Reiki symbols and some attunement techniques by his Reiki guides and he was guided to develop this system of Reiki called Karuna Reiki fully by 1995. He developed the attunement processes and worked with other Reiki practitioners worldwide to develop some of the symbols that are used for Karuna Reiki and have since been adopted by other systems of Reiki too. There are 8 additional symbols in Karuna Reiki which are used for intense healing work. It is imperative that Karuna Reiki is only offered to Usui Reiki Masters as William claims that it is not a substitute for Usui Reiki but is an additional technique that is a step up from it.

However it is important to note that Karuna Reiki is not to be confused with a similar sounding system called the Karuna Ki Reiki, this system is a more advanced system that is only available to Usui Masters and is developed Vincent Amador. It is very similar to Karuna Reiki in terms of using the same symbols of Karuna Reiki and its offshoot Tera Mai Reiki started by Kathleen it also uses some additional unique symbols, mudras and meditations and different attunement processes.

Karuna Reiki is a rewarding form of Reiki that brings balance, peace and harmony to all who have compassion in their hearts and embodies a more wholesome form of healing to Reiki.

    Reiki Attunement

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Attunement is the process by which the Master opens the initiate’s crown, heart and palm chakras along with their third eye and throat chakras to pass on the technique of Reiki to the initiate and forge a link between the everlasting Universal Energy and the recipient. Reiki Attunement is an extremely spiritual experience by responding to the voice of the Divine Spirit within. You are attuning yourself with the energies of the Universe and releasing your intention to the Universe to be a healer and a medium to channel the positive vibrations of Light and Love.

An attunement makes a person more psychically sensitive and facilitates the channeling of greater amounts of Reiki energy.

After the Attunement all the natural centers of energy in the body star to vibrate at very high frequencies and open the recipient to a field of Higher Consciousness and sensitize the initiate to messages from Reiki spirit guides and angels during the process of Attunement. An attunement is a life long gift that can never be lost or diminish; it is always contained in the heart and spirit of the recipient as a gift of love, life and laughter. And this gift keeps multiplying each and every time you channelise Reiki energy and spread Love and attune yourself with the Higher Powers.

The very process of attunement is not long and tedious as some may believe. In fact an attunement lasts only a few minutes and can only be performed by Masters. Some Masters may ask the recipient to remove all jewelry, metallic objects and shoes; this is done because of the belief that metals interfere with the channeling of energy and the recipient will be more grounded with bare feet but this is strictly a matter of choice and may differ with different Masters. Drinking water after the attunement is also said to act as a way of grounding and release any toxins from the physical body. Attunements can also be carried out in a remote manner. There are many different procedures for attuanemnt because a Master is guided by intuition as to hat the recipient needs rather than stick to a rigid ritual. Hui Yin and the Violet Breath are also Reiki techniques that are used by many as they are believed to heighten the power of the attunement.

An important thing to note for the initiated is that today there are various different branches of Reiki and each Master will offer something different based on his experience and expertise. You can start to combine different healing systems like aromatherapy, crystal therapy and the like with Reiki to give the energy a boost. It is not necessary that your own healing has to be the same as the Master who has initiated you. Reiki is an extremely personal art and each and every individual is unique.

After receiving the attunement you are going to be part of the Reiki Family, this family consists of all the healers and Reiki practitioners around the world who are trying to spread light and love in this world.

    Reiki Manual

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The Reiki Manual would be like any other manual or a guide to the principles and ethics of Reiki. This manual is not a hard and fast compilation but most Reiki manuals given out to students and teachers alike would contain similar thoughts in order to maintain the ideals of this spiritual tradition. Hough you might see the contents differing from branch to branch and from Master to Master the primary principles remain very much the same. Of course a Reiki manual is a constant work in progress.

Here we are going to list out some of the commonly included topics in a Reiki manual:

    Ethics

Since the nature of Reiki is for the most part, healing there are certain requirements that need to be observed. The greatest requirement for a healer is to have the permission of the person to be healed. We all know that healing begins from within and as a healer it is not possible to force healing on anybody. So it is a must to obtain the permission of the person to be healed especially in situations where there is a tendency to judge others – X is addicted to drugs and requires healing but you as a healer aren’t a judge of that. Though Reiki is the way of compassion it may need being hard-hearted sometimes.

Healing is not always curing, never promise a cure as this is not something that is under your control.

Never attempt to give medical advice or ask anyone to refrain from medication. Respecting client confidentiality is imperative to a Reiki practitioner to ensure trust. Never let the power of Reiki turn you into a Godman or Godwoman – by others or yourself. The energy is just being channelised by you but it is not you that is bringing about the healing. Be responsible about the energy you are directing, energy should be used with caution and respected.

    Symbols

There are three kinds of symbols that are used in Reiki imparted to the student at level 2, the fourth symbol is disclosed in level 3. These symbols don’t have any power of their own but are generally used as a focal point or for meditation or as a trigger to connect with and focus the different frequencies of the Universal Spiritual Energy. Using the symbols is a personal choice and may be used always or till you would like or not at all. Use your intuition to guide you as there is no right or wrong way to do Reiki. Later more symbols have been added to the original four and symbols from other traditions like ‘Om’ from Hinduism is also widely used. There are multiple ways to use these symbols and attuning to these symbols may differ from school to the other.

    Reiki Grounding

Grounding is needed after performing spiritual exercises in order to break connection with the astral plane in the absence of which you could feel “spaced out”. Reiki energy is great for grounding. Many people have different ways of grounding their excess energy. You can use Reiki energy to balance your chakras and ground yourself.

As a closer knowing or practicing Reiki is not away to enlightenment but it is a life long journey that walks in a spiral to the Divine.

    Reiki Lessons

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is an art that has to be learnt from an experienced Master. Reiki has come a long way from its traditional Japanese roots and with time and travels to foreign shores has changed and merged with other spiritual practices and therapies to become more versatile and contemporary. The original tradition was started by Dr. Usui Mikao and thus sometimes you may also hear Reiki called as Usui Reiki Ryoho, Reiki Ryoho or even Reiho in short. Traditionally Reiki has three degrees or levels but you can find some schools who teach more than 3 even going up to seven or more. Below is a short description of the four different levels of Reiki and the lessons contained in each of these levels. However this is format that may change for different schools and you may come across different teachings under different Reiki Masters, each of whom teach lessons according to their own tradition and expertise.

    First Degree Reiki (Level 1):

The beginning level of Reiki generally deals with the healing of the self. This may include lessons for initiation for the First Degree, a briefing of the history and mythos of Reiki, the various traditions and different Reiki associations worldwide. All this is coupled with learning to practically use Reiki like the hand positions and their usage, the benefits and different correspondences of Reiki and using this art to heal friends, family and every living creature like pets and plants and charging edibles with Reiki energy. All the spiritual significance and their subsequent effects on healing the mind, body and soul are covered in this degree.

    Second Degree Reiki (Level 2):

After having completed the First Degree successfully you can opt for the more advanced Second Degree. The key factor about the Second Degree is the imparting of the sacred Reiki symbols which were traditionally kept secret from initiates until they reached the Second Level. These symbols are discussed in depth and methods to use them in meditations and for general practice and focusing energy are taught. Distance healing and healing more advanced disorders are also taught at this level.

    Third Degree Reiki (Level 3):

This is a level for Personal Mastery that is yet more advanced and for people striving for inner growth and intuitive development and adept in channeling Universal Spiritual Reiki Energy. Complex energy working techniques are taught at the Third Level including working with chakras and performing psychic surgeries to remove blockages and spiritual slime from the aura. Building crystal grids to continuously transmit Reiki energy in order to bring peace, harmony and light in this world and advanced procedures for distance healing.

    Master Level Reiki

For those who wish to teach Reiki. However applying for a Master Level requires a very high level of Personal Mastery where the person must be a regular practitioner of Reiki and extreme proficiency in the techniques of the Third Level. Notes for teaching are also given at this stage and open the portal to channeling greater amounts of Reiki energy, attunement and also activating, directing and balancing energy. This is not a mere level but a way of life and is a privileged level that is available only by interview of the candidate. This level is a huge step up regarding wisdom and inner transformation and the way of the ascetic.

However many schools may break up this level and the others too to better inculcate some of the lessons.

    Reiki Jumpstart

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Energy healing is like jumpstarting a car battery. You get that electric feeling when you’re done with a session. At least I do. They say people have different experiences.

It’s also nice having that jumpstart while in the process of healing others—preferably at the very beginning. Right when I begin channeling Reiki for manifesting or the healing of others, I do what I call a “Reiki jumpstart.” Here’s how to do it:

This is a technique for Reiki II Practitioners and above. And it’s simple. Say the name of the Power Symbol aloud or in your mind three times.

There’s mysterious power in the number three. Once you repeat the Power Symbol three times, you should feel that Reiki jumpstart I’ve been describing. Energy will powerfully surge through you.

The purpose of the Power Symbol is to enhance the power of the energy being channeled. If you’re a Reiki Master, you can say the name of the Master Symbol then the Power Symbol three times. You can use this technique along with the Mental-Emotional Symbol or the Distance Symbol as well.

As well as doing Reiki on yourself and others, this technique works very well with generating energy into candles or crystals.

Reiki jumpstart… Give it a try.

    What Is Reiki?

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is an ancient form of energy healing in which a properly attuned Reiki Practitioner serves as a conduit for Universal Life Force (or ReiKi). The Reiki practitioner opens them self up as a conduit for a semi-sentient energy summoned from a higher source to facilitate healing or correct a person’s aura. The Reiki Practitioner is not a healer per se – but the energy moves through them to work with the recipient’s higher will in correcting imbalances and treating situations from the core causal point rather than the effect. This is thought to have a beneficial effect on the body, mind, and spirit, emotional and in Indian systems - the chakra system.

Everything in the universe is thought to have an underlying energy that gives it form, structure, health, strength and autonomy. This invisible, but formidable force is called the Chi by Chinese mystics and martial artists and referred to as Prana by Indian masters and healers. It is also called “orgone energy” and the practice itself is also described by the names Chi Gong and Polarity therapy. Whatever you want to call it, the word Reiki literally means “Universal Life Force.” Reiki is capable of healing anything because it works at very fundamental levels of reality. The level of reality where Reiki operates is the underlying energy structure of matter, as the physical matter we see around us is a solidified form of energy.

The health, flow and strength of this force are thought to be affected by our thoughts. Think negative thoughts and manifest diseases and unfortunate events. Think positive thoughts and good health and good fortune. Think nothing and achieve bliss. Reiki is really about helping those who are stuck in self, access the healing energies of a higher power. In some ways too, Reiki can be called an active, ritualistic form of prayer.

A Reiki healing is a very simple, and quite religious act of faith. In essence, the Reiki Healer or Master can be seen as a channel or vessel for the transformative power of God’s love. The practitioner places his or her hands upon the person to be healed with the intent for healing to occur, and then the energy begins flowing. Into the afflicted part of the body, without any judgement or thoughts from the Reiki Master. The healer draws exactly the amount of needed energy to the recipient. There is no conscious intervention or appeal on the part of the healer who are there to keep the “healing space” open between the diseased or troubled person and the divine love before. The healer/s job is to get out of the way and be a conduit. Often, if you will observe a Reiki healer, he or she will appear to stop and watch or listen for signs of what to do next, from a silent voice.

Traditionally, the healer is taught a set of hand positions that are postured over the sick or troubled person’s body. These sometimes look like the Reiki master is giving the person a massage from mid hair. The Reiki Practitioner will occasionally make scooping or actions like he is smoothing a bedspread. This is all part of his intent to intuitively correct energy imbalances in your aura. Some healers will also place their hands directly on a sick or ill part of a body and keep them there as long as necessary.

Reiki can also be used to still emotional storms as well as heal relationships. This is done by correcting the subtle energies of what is known as the “orgone body”, “electromagnetic field” or the aura. Often, hands are passed through the air, once again, removing blocks and negative entities or thought forms from the person’s force field.

Reiki is also used to heal individuals at a distance. This is also called “remote healing”. Although it is not always necessary, the Reiki healer will ask for an object or create an object that represents the ill person. Treating the object is thought to also treat the person at a long distance away.

Some very talented Reiki masters have also been known to heal objects such as cars, computers and traffic jams. The idea is to act as a vessel and send the situation light so that it will correct itself.

In a way, Reiki is also about breaking bad patterns. The great sages always despise anything too habitual as it is thought to cause stagnation and disease. Good interference from a well trained Reiki master or light worker is thought to break these patterns and allow fresh energy to trigger the process of healing.

    Reiki Music

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The therapeutic effects of music have been a well known fact throughout ages. The Bard’s famous words were, “If music be the food of love, play on” and these immortal words ring true for what is Reiki if not love? A Reiki healer does much more than merely transferring energy, a Reiki healer transfers living energy that is healing, loving and compassionate to someone in need.

Music has been used throughout centuries for meditation and ritualistic purposes and music finds its expression in chants, devotional songs, hymns and invocations throughout various cultures and traditions. In the Vedic traditions, the sound of ‘Aum’ was said to be the primordial sound of the Universe and an invitation to the Gods. It was the only sound that existed before everything else did and is the only sound in the vast emptiness of space, within and without us. Even in the western world, no pantheon would be complete without a God dedicated for music and it is interesting to note that the Gods corresponding to music were also associated with healing and also light, for example: Lugh from the Celtic pantheon and Apollo from the Greek pantheon. This goes to say that music can bring about healing and also light, this light is the Divine light channeled by Reiki.

Music therapy when combined with Reiki can be a powerful healing mechanism. While Reiki can be an attunement to divine energies, music can create the correct atmosphere and increase the vibrational effect of the received energies in order to greatly amplify the healing effects. Sound reaches the ear and as the ear receives the different frequencies of the sound, they stimulate the a nerve that runs right through the middle of the brain that is again distributed throughout all the neural cells that process the sound and promote the associative and cognitive powers of the brain to release latent joyous and creative energies, loosen up, soothe tiredness and induce a feeling of wellbeing and peace. Music is also commonly used to soothe and stimulate the chakras and the sounds are used to heal pre-existing energy patterns that are residing within the chakras that vibrate on a certain frequency and are different for each chakra. Using Reiki music for healing chakras through specially tuned frequencies that vibrate on a certain frequencies could work wonders for balancing any imbalances in the chakras. Reiki music is specially made with high and low tones made to alternate constantly that triggers a stimulus which aids in the therapy. Similarly all the symbols of Reiki are also said to vibrate on a certain frequency which can be reached out to by the different notes of the music specially prepared for this purpose.

Reiki music has been found to be greatly effective for practicing GIM or Guided Imagery Meditation in which certain musical notes are used to attune the mind on a certain frequency which encourages the emotional flow and this further results in the self merging with the Higher Self being carried by the music and this healing music is slow, repetitive, and is like a gently chanted soothing mantra. In the medical world of psychology it is called the Helen Bonny method of GIM.

In modern times there are various choices in new-age music you can find easily. Music is a respite from our hectic lives and serves to soothe us and calm our inner senses and restore balance and harmony. If you seek some solace pick up a piece of Reiki music today.

To be a Reiki parent means you can start caring for your baby long before the little one is born.

Here’s what Bronwen and Frans Stiene will tell their daughter about life as a Reiki parent ... and a Reiki child.

    For our daughter….

After living together for many years, your father and I married with the intention of one day extending our family. When, and exactly how extended, we didn’t know – but it was a part of our unwritten contract.

From that date on we discussed you. You were a lovely figment of our imagination, a lolly that we felt we could suck on forever without it ever having to finish.

At our first wedding anniversary in the Indian Himalaya that lovely figment struggled in my mind to become more than just a fantasy.

I would love to tell you that I knew the exact moment you were conceived, but I didn’t. Perhaps it was that very first moment when we decided it was now or never. Is that physical act not quite as important as we might like to think?

Not long after conception we both used Reiki on my womb to support the process that would one day become you. It all came together beautifully and within the month I was pregnant.

After having lived in Darjeeling for a year in the house on the hill with our Reiki centre, we were packing up to leave and by the time the pregnancy test gave me two straight blue lines we had just two weeks left. There were many friends to say goodbye to and a great deal of delicious food yet to be shared.

It was hard to imagine that you were growing inside of me, a part of Frans and a part of me but with your own mysterious spirit. “Who are you?” we wondered as we laid our hands on my flat stomach, connecting with you.

It was just two days after the test confirmed I was pregnant that something strange began to happen.

Frans and I were sitting in our lounge room and I said, “Look outside - there’s a crow in the tree.” The tree was opposite the bedroom window and normally I would never have commented on seeing a crow – during the monsoon there must have been at least 20 in the trees surrounding our house. Yet monsoon was long gone and there was something odd about this crow that I couldn’t put my finger on as it observed me with its beady black eyes.

Frans left to go down to the village and I wandered around our now half empty house. On entering our bedroom, I gasped, stepping back into the hall again. There, flat against the large bay window with its chequered glass panes, was this enormous black figure. It was a bird – stretched out to its full length from wing tip to wing tip pressed against the glass with one half of its face peering at me.

Not daring to enter in case it became aggressive, I spied on it through a chink in the door as it balanced precariously on one of the many wooden slats that held the square glass panels in place. It was that same odd crow from this morning, I was sure.

I retreated and paced the house until Frans returned.

When we re-entered the bedroom, we found the crow sitting watching us from the nearby tree. Frans fearlessly opened the window wide and called out to the bird, “You can come in if you want to.” The bird didn’t respond to the invitation, yet continued to follow our movements from its tree post for the rest of the day. It began to dawn on us that its mission was not a dangerous one.

Early the following morning as the jingly-jangly Hindi music from the Darjeeling marketplace wafted up the hill and the sun crept along our orange curtains, a loud “tak, tak” noise jarred us awake.

Sleepily, we searched out the foreign sound with our eyes. Against the sunlit curtains could be seen the black silhouette of a fully grown crow, wings extended. He was back. “Tak, tak” – his beak pecked forcefully at the glass. Loosing balance on the thin wooden slat, his wings beat furiously to regain their position until he could resume his “tak, tak, taking”.

We lay quietly in bed pondering what it all meant until we drifted back to sleep to his rhythmic language. Once the morning sun had risen our two-legged friend returned to his perch on the tree, chattering away, perhaps recounting a tale intended to subliminally enter our consciousnesses.

The next morning the “tak, tak, tak” at the window was less of a shock and more of a thrill. We realised that this was to become a ritual.

In some way we knew this crow was connected to you. Was the crow your protector, your teacher, or merely a sign from nature that you were on your way?

The next day I made my way to the Tibetan doctor whom I had been seeing to purify my blood with herbal tablets, preparing me for motherhood.

    “I think I’m pregnant.” I announced. I still couldn’t quite believe it.
“Do you feel sick, heavy in your uterus?”
    “No.”
    “Then you’re not pregnant.”
“But the pregnancy test says I am.” I protested.
She shrugged disinterestedly. Suddenly, I started to doubt the truth myself.
She felt my wrist pulse, a Tibetan diagnostic method, and didn’t look impressed.
“You’ll know for certain when you’re 5 or 6 months pregnant.” She advised.

Disconcerted and a little disappointed, I changed the subject. “Tell me, what does a crow symbolise in Tibetan mythology?”
“It depends upon what the crow is doing.” She replied.
“How about a crow attaching itself to a window and knocking at the pane with its beak?”
“That signifies pregnancy.” She stated incuriously and added, “Well, that’s what the old Tibetans say.”
“THAT has been happening to me for the last three days.”
With unexpected enthousisam, the Tibetan doctor began pounding my hand up and down in her own - “Congratulations!” And her gold tooth glinted in the light of my happiness.

Every morning our friend came to our window, balanced himself fully extended on a thin wooden slat and knocked with his beak, “tak, tak, tak”. He would then sit patiently in the tree, warbling and chuckling his ancient tale.

We could only hope, on the day that we sadly left Darjeeling almost two weeks later, that his tale had been fully told.

Your story doesn’t finish there my little one.

Later that week in the plane from Calcutta, the inflight magazine wrote of the Dalai Lama’s early life before entering the monastery. His mother told how she knew that she was about to give birth to an auspicious being when 2 crows came knocking at her window. We read this news with delight, letting our imaginations fly along the Tibetan plains where magic and mystery reside.

Each day that you grew inside of me, I lay down and placed my hands on my head to recite: ‘My baby is going to have a have a quick, smooth and easy birth”. I would place my hands on you, to reassure you too with words and energy: “You are going to have a quick, smooth and easy birth”.

At 37 weeks, you woke me at 2 am with the news that you were on the way. At 3 am I woke your father – get yourself together Dad! At ten minutes past 6 that morning you were born at our local hospital, too early for the planned birthing centre. Your earliness necessitated a hospital birth but we never saw a doctor just a midwife and she, along with my rescue remedy, gave us the clarity and focus to bring you with ease into this world. As you took your first gasp of air, I already knew of your beauty – it was mirrored in the look on your father’s face.

At the end of her shift, the midwife dropped by to see this family of three who had been Blessed with the Initiation of Birth. It wasn’t until she left that we read her name on our daughter’s birth certificate – Julie Crowe.

Your father tore himself away from you on that first day to drive home to have a shower and pick up some extra things. As he walked up our front steps an eggshell, one half shell resting inside the other, lay at the centre of the top step.

Nature is not in this world to simply be used to satisfy human needs and wants. If we can understand the magnitude and sheer relevance of nature’s gifts for us, we will know that we must in return nurture nature, treasure its preciousness.

In this way humanity and nature will continue to co-evolve, creating existence, together.

If we no longer learn from, listen or watch for nature’s signs, will nature become redundant?

In its redundancy, will humanity be able to continue its journey?

To take from this world is what we do as humans but at the same time we must give back and care for that which mothers us - even if that giving back is simply a nod of acknowledgment.

If we no longer notice the crow, the magazine article, the midwife and the sign of a miracle will they all gradually fade from our existence? And once they vanish, will we gradually fade into the distance too?

We have kept that shell for you. It is a reminder of the mysterious ways of this world that we must never take for granted nor be required to seek to decipher. Not everything needs an answer, but it does need to be.

These are some of the things we slowly begin to understand as Reiki parents.

Enjoy this world and always give back in order that you can continue to grow and be blessed with a hand to hold on your journey – whether that hand be human, or a special gift from nature.

    Reiki Symbol

Reiki symbols are sacred healing symbols that open the doors of healing for its practitioners. These symbols provide a path for the flow of energy and lead one to higher levels of awareness and manifestations. Each symbol holds some form of meta-physical energy. In written scriptures, these symbols are considered to be Sanskrit derived Japanese forms.

Reiki has four symbols, which are: Cho ku Rei, Sei He Ki,Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen and Dai ko Myo. Cho ku Rei is the symbol of power. Though Reiki energy can flow without it, the symbol provides a source of energy. It is usually used in the beginning of the healing process. It can also be used in the middle or the concluding phase; in fact, whenever energy is required for accentuating the healing process. It is used specifically for healing within the physical body.

Sei He Ki is the symbol of healing relationship problems. It represents mental and emotional healing. It is also used for protection, purification, clearing and balancing of energies. Reiki believes that, when one catches a disease, it is a representation of energy imbalances that has taken place in the emotional body (subconscious mind) and the mental body (unconscious mind). This symbol can be used for healing emotional or mental distress such as nervousness, fear, depression, anger, and sadness. It can be also used to enhance memory, as it connects with the subconscious mind, where memory is stored.

Hon Sha Ze Sho Nen is the symbol used for transmitting energy across time and space. This can be used for transmitting energy into the past as well the future. Dai Ko Myo is the Matter Symbol. It is considered to be the Light of the Buddha or the Light of the Awakened Heart. It signifies expanded wisdom and an ability to see the future. It is used to heal the soul.

Studying these symbols can open the doors of spiritual power and awakening. This is why Reiki and its symbols are growing in popularity, even today.

    A Guide To Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is an art of healing which began in Japan. It is believed that this art originated in Tibet when Tibetan monks studied energies and developed a system of sounds and symbols for universal healing energies. Over a period of time, this art was lost. Around the late 1800s, Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese Christian educator in Kyoto, Japan, traveled to the United States and India in search of this healing skill. After studying the original Buddhist Holy Scriptures in Sanskrit, he rediscovered the wisdom of Reiki healing and returned to Japan. Thus, the science of Reiki that evolved in Tibet long ago was traced back and developed in Japan.

The word Reiki is made up of two words - "rei" and "ki."The word "rei" means free passage or transcendental spirit. The word "ki" means vital life force energy or universal life energy. The practice of Reiki incorporates elements of just about every other alternative healing practice such as spiritual healing, auras, crystals, chakra balancing, meditation, aromatherapy, naturopathy, and homeopathy. The uniqueness of Reiki is in this blend of various holistic therapies.

The art of Reiki works on the principle of balancing of energies. The energies are transferred from the practitioner to the patient. This enhances the body's natural ability to heal itself through the balancing of energy. Reiki serves as a healing therapy. There are specific techniques for restoring and balancing the natural life force energy within the body that are utilized in this science. This makes Reiki a holistic science that uses natural hands-on energy healing system, which impacts on all levels: body, mind, and spirit.

There are many forms of Reiki being practiced today. The two important forms are the Usui System of Natural Healing and the Radiance Technique. Reiki has evolved from a spiritual art to a science that can heal different diseases. Now, practitioners offer Reiki services to cure a number of diseases and bring peace and harmony in the human body. Reiki has proved to be useful in treating a number of illnesses. Reiki was first introduced to the Western world in the mid-1970s. Subsequently, Reiki has spread rapidly through out the world.

It is not a process that takes many years. It is merely passed on from the preacher to the scholar. As soon as this occurs, one has the technique and one can practice it. Because of this, it is simply learned by anybody.

Reiki is a sacred form of curing. Reiki is not reliant on one's aptitude or a particular ability. Because of this, the qualities of the healer are less probable to blur the significance of the skill. The consciousness of being related directly to God's curative love and defense makes learning of this technique very soothing.

    What is Reiki?

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The name Reiki is a Japanese word given to a very simple but highly profound natural healing technique used to balance the body, mind and spirit. Rei means "Universal" and ki (or chi in Chinese) means "Life Force Energy." The word Reiki originates from the word "Raku-Kei," with Raku meaning the vertical energy flow in the body and Kei meaning the horizontal. Although most people cannot see this energy, modern science tells us that it exists everywhere. It is in our bodies, in our food and water, the air we breathe, the sun that shines upon us and even exists in small amounts in inanimate objects. It is the foundation of all life.

Reiki energy is transferred through the hands of a Reiki practitioner. After studying Reiki from a qualified Reiki Master, the practitioner is able to harness the Universal Life Force Energy through various techniques, and transfer it, resulting in a balancing of the body's chakras Chakras are energy centers in the body, and when unbalanced, can cause poor health, depression, anxiety and many other complications. All illness, in whatever form, is about being out of balance, either physically or mentally. Reiki releases negative energy, replacing it with a pure, positive balancing energy. It stimulates the body's own innate wisdom to heal at the source of the problem.

    Master Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The word Reiki is derived from two Japanese words, "Rei" which means "God's Wisdom" or "Higher Power" and "Ki" which means "Life Force Energy." This healing art was re-discovered by Makao Usui, who connected it with a 2500- year old Tibetan healing discipline. Reiki was passed down the centuries from Makao Usui to the subsequent Reiki Masters.

A Reiki Master is one who has mastered the healing art. He is the one who feels the call and has the willingness to enter into this relationship of initiator, mentor, and teacher. He is the one who knows how to teach and attune others to this art.

A Reiki Master is endowed with many skills of spiritual healing. These include communication skills, handling and transforming emotional responses, developing and delivering therapeutic figures, overcoming unconsciously motivated resistance to healing, and specialized teaching skills. Reiki knowledge is divided into various levels. A Reiki Master should be able to teach all the levels in order to be able to grant a degree to his students.

A Reiki Master should know how to use and direct energy. According to Reiki theory, energy flows where attention is concentrated. For this purpose, attention is concentrated on various symbols to produce energy. Different symbols generate different kinds of energies. These energies are then used for different objectives such as healing, stress release and for curing different problems.

Various courses are offered to help a person become a Reiki master. Reiki revolves around the simple philosophy of self-healing before helping others. Hence, the first task of a Reiki Master is to heal himself before helping his students. A student is trained to resolve his past issues to gain a greater control over his or her emotions. The mind is then trained to manifest their desires.

A Reiki Master's spiritual power cannot be understated. As the knowledge spreads, these people are sure to influence several needy lives around them with their positive influence.

Reiki massage is a calm practical healing method to decrease strain, ease pain, and help cure. Reiki practitioners hold that the fundamental power of the cosmos, is channeled through the practitioner to energize the various, body systems on levels that endorse curing and completeness. The hands of the Reiki practitioner are used to examine a client's body, and to recognize and treat parts of condensed energy in the client.

The Reiki massage is based on the same principles of energies as acupressure. But as compared to acupressure, Reiki massages do not require physical agility. Truly speaking, Reiki and massage are two separate things. Most of the times it is seen the people who are trained in Reiki and massage combine the two to get the best results out of them.

It can sometimes be confused that massage establishments and practitioners are offering a Reiki - type therapy. They are not, usually. Reiki requires skill and devotion by the practitioner. Traditional massage therapists also require skills - but they are different to the Reiki practitioners.

The Reiki massage helps in relaxing and healing a lot of sickness in the individuals. Even if you are not sick, Reiki massage is a method to give you peace and reduce the stress level of life. The Reiki massage is first carried out on the head of the client and works out its path through the seven charkas or the centers of energy of the human body. Reiki massage is considered to be the best to relieve pain and cure the illness of various body areas. Reiki massage is not the same as the normal massage.

Reiki is fast gaining popularity as a method for healing and gaining wisdom by connecting forces with the Divine. Reiki can be loosely defined channeling Universal Light for the purpose of healing the self or others. Though the original system of Reiki does not point towards the appearance of spirit guides, many a time this Light also brings with it a spiritual energy in the form of a guide who many call a spirit guide, a Reiki guide or even angelic guides depending on their spiritual inclinations.

A spirit guide is different from a spirit, when you are performing Reiki you are not channeling spirits but because of the high amounts of Spiritual Energy generated that is directed towards a positive purpose like healing, spirits who assist in such purposes may stage an appearance. These spirits are not just spirits invoked in shamanistic rituals but these are spirits who work as guides, advisors or spiritual counselors. The ancient Shinto religion features Divine Spirits called Kami who inhabit this world and are a part of each and every thing in this world like the elements and even intangible qualities like joy, fertility etc. however the system of Reiki started by Dr. Usui Mikao did not include any aspects of Shintoism that had to do with working with these spirits or Kami. Thus even though originally this Japanese tradition did not work with spirit guides, their presence started becoming favorable to the process of Reiki and during the 80’s and the 90’s with the coming of the new-age spiritual revolution, Reiki systems also began incorporating spirit guides often calling them as Reiki guides. However Reiki techniques such as Byosen Ho and Reiji Ho help the practitioner develop intuitive abilities that are a gateway to astral wisdom and connecting with spirit guides.

Though these guides are astral spirits that can be present in a Reiki session and guide a healer to know things about the patient for example, while working with certain patients it may become difficult to figure out the correct approach, work on a specific site of blockage etc and this is where a spirit guide can come in to guide the healer and this in turn boosts the power of Reiki to bring about great results and higher healing.

It is not that an initiate at the second level will magically start to communicate with sprit guides, it takes practice and perseverance and to develop intuitive abilities to sense spirit guides through Reiki techniques like Byosen Ho and Reiji Ho. It is not an easy process but certainly not impossible if you learn to listen to the voice that resides inside of you. This voice is constantly talking but the noise from the mind drowns it out, keenly listening to the voice of your heart is a tool of power that is always with you. This voice can guide you like no other spirit can and it is vital to heed its call and this is what can be developed by using the aforementioned Reiki techniques.

Constantly honing your skills and practicing Reiki with faith and understanding can lead to some wonderful experiences with yourself – your own inner work and also share wisdom with spirit guides.

    What is Reiki?

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

We'll try to explain how we see it though we're sure to come up against linguistic limitations. It is also extremely difficult to talk about 'it' (Reiki energy) when we are `it' already. Therefore some meanings may come across as dualistic in nature when that was never our intent.

Right from the very beginning we find different wordings in the translation alone. This doesn’t make the job of finding out what Reiki is any easier.

There are so many varied explanations as to what Reiki is. Is it different to the energies used by other systems are there different sorts of Reiki? We think it might even be easier to start with what we don’t think it is and discuss varied beliefs about Reiki before moving on to what we feel that it is.

We don't see Reiki energy as a specific sort of energy but something much `greater' than that.

We don't see the energy used in Reiki as different to the energy used in Qi Gong, Yoga, etc... Rather it is the way that energy is utilized that produces different results (the feelings of denseness or higher vibration etc..).

Each system has its own techniques, practises and methods to aid practitioners in developing specific skills. At a basic level these skills differ according to the process undertaken by practitioners as taught in each system.

We believe there are a number of reasons as to why some Reiki practitioners feel that Reiki appears to produce different results to other energetic practices. It is good to remember we are talking about results here. This is not the energy (even here the word `energy' might be inappropriate - especially for those of you who are scientific - is spirit or essence a better representation of what we are talking about?) itself.

The techniques taught in specific systems (such as Qi Gong, Yoga etc...) would have been developed for different reasons. For example chopping bricks with a bare hand is a technique belonging to a distinctive system for specific reasons. Though there are many different energetic systems, the ultimate result of working with energy is for the same purpose - to know enlightenment.

In Reiki we do not practise these sort of energy techniques, our intent and focus is different though ultimately we too are working toward enlightenment. Instead we may learn symbols and mantras to aid us in sensing energy, and hatsurei ho to develop our ability to channel more energy through the body. This does not mean however that the energy is different.

Some use psychics or spiritual guides to aid them in their understanding of what Reiki is or isn't. But this still comes down to an individual's interpretation (at whatever level) and is subjective. Therefore we do not see it that systems are energetically different. What is different are the variety of techniques taught (even within the system of Reiki) and then there is the individuality if those who practise these techniques.

We also do not see that there are different flavours of Reiki energy – rather different flavours of thought, practice and intention. We consider Reiki to be the energy (or spirit or essence) of everything. So we are not separate from it – it just is.

So where does the concept that there are different flavours of energy in Reiki originate from?

It may originate from a particular understanding of the attunement process. Some believe that an attunement enters one into a specific energetic path (the energetic path of their system or teacher). We don't view the attunement in that way. The attunement is one of the elements of the system of Reiki but it is not necessarily the most important aspect. Each of the elements work together to create a system that aids us in developing our energetic strength and clearing energy in the body. Traditionally it seems that the attunement never appears to have made someone into something – whether that be a level or a member of a system. It simply supported practitioners in their own energetic work.

Ultimately, we feel that everybody is born with the ability to use the energy of Reiki for healing. It is an innate ability. We are Reiki energy. There is no IT and US.

On the other hand the actual SYSTEM of Reiki is a sum number of practices (hands-on practise, techniques and meditations, symbols and mantras, attunements and the precepts) that when brought together create something unique – the system of Reiki. A practise that supports an individual's spiritual growth – this practise includes the ability to heal one's self and to strengthen one's capacity to channel energy and if our dedication is true and strong – perhaps to know enlightenment.

So why do people love Reiki courses so much when they already have the ability to do it? For many it is the unparalleled joy of the reminder that within themselves is their spiritual heart or core. After that initial joy it is the inner growth that occurs from working within a structure designed to work on oneself energetically (you can replace `spiritually' here with the word `energetically').

A practitioner's commitment to, and time allotted to, self-practise will obviously benefit and develop his/her practise. As with everything in life the more we put into it the more we get out. The more self- practise that one undertakes, the more energy that is cleared in the body - with all the beneficial repercussions that come from clearing.

Using the techniques taught in Reiki we connect with ourselves again – whether it be the hands-on element, the meditations, the attunements, working with the symbols and mantras or looking deeply into the precepts. Reiki has much to offer – from many varied angles.

Each day we feel different and will consequently feel energy differently – nothing ever stays the same. What can happen sometimes is that if someone says – the energy is going to feel like this and that, then that is most probably how the energy will feel. We are very open to suggestion – especially when discussing something as illusive as energy (or essence or spirit). It is best to accept the sensations for what they are rather than to try to name them. They are the sensations not the energy itself.

The ultimate aim of our practise is to remember who we are – Reiki.

    Symbols In Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Symbols are pictorial triggers that are commonly used in meditation as a point of focus or as a tool for visualization in order to achieve a higher sense of awareness and energy manifestation. A symbol aims at the psyche and the subconscious mind to condense the meaning of a whole philosophy into a single symbol.

This same principle is used in Reiki to aid meditation, healing and evoking positive Reiki energy. But it is important to remember that the symbol in itself is not a source of power but the healing treatment and Reiki energy comes from the healer.

Reiki symbols are generally kept secret till the initiate reaches the second level. The symbols for Reiki are based loosely on the Japanese system of writing, Kanji. They are generally taught during the Reiki level 2 – Attunement. However each person is unique and the subconscious of each attunes to these symbols in a different manner based to various factors like intent and psychic energies so it may happen that you may come across variations of these symbols with different Masters. There is no fixed rule for drawing these and therefore nobody is actually wrong.

There are many misunderstandings concerning these symbols, one of which is that they are supposed to draw the symbols in a particular order. These symbols are generally derived from Japanese writing where the style of writing the characters is different from the western world and the writing is done with emphasis on style, direction and order but this is only done for legibility purposes and bears no relevance to the meaning of the symbol or its power in Reiki. Though the Reiki symbols are each used for a specific purpose there are some who prefer to use these symbols combined during Reiki treatments in order to boost the power of the Reiki. This is generally done to make a Reiki healing more effective.

    Reiki Association

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

With Reiki becoming increasingly popular throughout the world many Reiki practitioners found the need to network with others with like interests, build a network of energy workers throughout the world and also for support, sharing ideas and information. This need has given birth to many Reiki associations world over, whether they are local or global they are a fantastic way to get in touch with others practicing this healing art. However the founder of Reiki or the original form of Reiki by Dr. Mikao Usui also known as Usui Reiki or Usui Reiki Ryoho or even Reiho for short was named the first president of an association which was the first Reiki association called the 'Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai' where the word Gakkai means association in Japanese and the Reiki association is also referred to just Gakkai in short. This Reiki Association was set up in April 1922 and after his death the presidency of the Gakkai was handed over to his friend, Juzaburo Ushida.

The Gakkai has worked hard to preserve most of the original teachings of Dr. Usui. They have remained very secretive and have never believed in publicizing themselves or opening their doors to the public. They have had very little contact with the Western world and it is only recently that some of the original information of Dr. Usui’s teachings has been transmitted to the West and the rest of the world. It is by the efforts of two Reiki Masters, Frank Arjava Petter and Hiroshi Doi that we have been able to acquire knowledge about the association and the practice of Reiki in its authentic form. Frank Arjava Petter is a Westerner who lives and works in Japan and he has since written three books that chronicle his experiences with Reiki and the Association. He has published in depth information about the history and origins of Reiki and also researched the different branches of traditional Reiki and also some facts about the Gakkai and information from the members of the association.

Even more information was shared by a member of the Gakkai by a man named Hiroshi Doi who was the first member of the original Dr. Usui’s association to journey to the West and share his knowledge about Reiki’s methods and techniques that are used by the Gakkai and stem from Dr. Usui’s own teachings. He has outlined the grueling training process used by the Gakkai to obtain wisdom and ascetic powers gained by undergoing the difficult training. He states that the Western Usui Reiki is very different from the original Usui Reiki. He also explains the various techniques and special energy exercises like ‘Hatsu Rei Ho’ and ‘Reiji Ho’ which students in the Gakkai perform to sharpen their intuitive skills and develop more proficiency in Reiki. And these are only some of the things that have newly been discovered outside of the Gakkai.

With more and more information about the original practices and exposure to Dr. Usui’s system the West and the rest of the world can better understand this system and know that there is a lot more to just what was available to us and this knowledge can only empower us to make Reiki even more effective and bring more light and healing to this world.

    Teachers of Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Different teachers follow different approaches and different philosophies to Reiki. There are number of variations in Reiki these days. The fundamental form of Reiki is Usui Reiki and all other forms have originated from it. Make sure that the Reiki teacher you choose follows an approach that is balanced and has a sense of respect for all other approaches.

The cost that you will be paying for learning Reiki from the Reiki teacher is also a key factor that decides the Reiki teacher. The Reiki teacher should provide good manuals and references for you to study. The cost of the Reiki classes should not be very high and should provide good practice of Reiki.

Before deciding about the Reiki teacher, find out about his experience. Find out how many students he has trained and if he has enough practice. This is very important for the proper flow of energies from the Reiki teacher to the student.

A Reiki teacher should always be ready to help you even after you complete the predetermined number of classes. He should not be money minded or a fraud. Verify that the person has appropriate degrees, a good reputation and has a license to teach Reiki.

Your future Reiki teacher should provide you proper information about the fee structure, pattern of the classes, type of Reiki approach he will be teaching and other clarification about the Reiki before he starts taking your Reiki lessons.

It goes almost without saying that a teacher of Reiki should have some recent practice in the art and, preferably, be a current practitioner.

    Reiki Symbols

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki symbols are Japanese symbols. They are actually derived from Sanskrit. Sanskrit is considered to be the mother tongue of all other tongues. It is the tongue of the Vedas, the most ancient written matter known to man. According to the Vedas, Sanskrit is considered as a language of the spirit.

Reiki symbols are sacred healing symbols which enhance the flow of Life Force Energy. They are like keys that open doors to higher levels of awareness and manifestation - Sanskrit-derived Japanese forms. Sanskrit is the mother-tongue of all other languages. Reiki symbols are given to the person that is to be being attuned an imprint takes place linking the image to the energies the symbol represents.

The Reiki symbols have their own realization, and it is easy to meditate on them and obtain assistance on how to use Reiki directly from the Reiki symbols themselves. The Reiki symbols are like keys that unlock gates to an advanced mind. The Reiki symbols activate a faith or purpose erected into the signs that helps the user to obtain the outcomes planned. The diverse signs also rapidly join the user to the universal life energy. When a Reiki Preacher does an attunement and demonstrates the Reiki symbols to a student, the form of the symbol is marked in the students mind and fuse with the metaphysical energies it symbolizes. When a Reiki practitioner depicts, believes about or envisages a symbol it will right away tie to the energies it symbolizes.

The symbols aid the process of healing in the student an are an important part of the Reiki process.

    An Introduction to Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is a Japanese spiritual practice that is used for treating a number of different diseases. These diseases can be emotional, mental, or physical. The practice was first created in the 20th century by Mikao Usui. His followers said that after a few weeks of fasting, he acquired the ability to heal without losing any of his energy. When Reiki is performed, the practitioners believe that by laying on of the hands, they will be able to access channels of energy. This energy is called "Ki." These practitioners say that they will be given guidance by spirits that are called "Rei," and it is these two terms that give the practice its name.

Since its introduction, Reiki has a gained a certain level of popularity in the United States. Statistics from 2002 show that over 1 million Americans used Reiki treatments. The practice has receive controversy from the scientific and medical establishment, who claim that there is no concrete evidence that the treatments are effective. However, some doctors have said that it may have a placebo effect on those who use it. The two characters that are used to describe Reiki are Chinese, and are believed to define energy. Many people who use Reiki choose to use the expression spiritual healing instead of faith, because they do not believe that faith is required in order for the practice to work.

Reiki has been broken down into a number of different schools. Some schools teach that the energy will enter the body through what is called the 7th chakra. After this it will travel through the 4th chakra, and it will move through the hands, and from this point it will flow into the body. At the same time, some schools teach that the energy will enter the body through the spine. According to the teachings of Reiki, the energy is intelligent. It knows what must be done, and it knows where the body needs it. It is also said that the recipient must accept energy if they want their bodies to absorb it.

During the typical Reiki treatment, the patient will be asked to lie down. Once they are lying down, they must relax. It is the practitioner who will act as a channel for the energy, and this energy will be guided towards the patient. The practitioner will do this by placing their hands near or on the body. It has been said that the patients will feel a number of sensations, and some of these are heat, pressure, or cold. Adherents of Reiki say that these feelings are a result of the energy filling up areas of the body that are low in energy. The energies will be open, and negativity will be pulled out.

Despite the controversy that Reiki has caused in the medical establishment, a number of medical journals have confirmed that the treatments from Reiki have been useful. Some of the benefits of Reiki include a lower heart rate, high levels of immunity, and relaxation. In addition to this, the blood pressure rates of patients were improved as well. Some reports have even found that mice infected with cancer cells were treated successfully by Reiki.

    Reiki Initiation

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is taught at various levels or degrees and initiation is something that is a part of welcoming a student or initiate into a new Level. Initiation is a process by which a participant gains access to the power of performing Reiki. This initiation is performed on the initiate by a Reiki Master only and after this process is complete the person can begin on the fascinating journey that is Reiki. Initiation is also called as Attunement or Empowerment and though the correct process is not divulged completely and is said to differ from student to student and from Master to Master, everyone has a different way to perform an Initiation or Attunement. A Master is guided by Reiki guides to perform what is right for a particular initiate. In general terms it can be defined loosely as a process or ritual by performing which a Reiki Master opens the initiate’s chakras and activates them in order to enable them to channelise Reiki energy in their body and through their hands in order to heal themselves or others by placing their hands upon them or even directing energy from a distance towards a person/goal.

Reiki initiations are thus the central factor for Reiki. They define the standing of the initiate into the Reiki circle and the starting point at which the initiate opens up their personal energies to the Universe in order to invite unlimited healing energies from the Universe and raise their vibrations to a frequency that attunes with the Universal Consciousness and become more sensitive to not only other Reiki healers across the planet but also Reiki guides in the form of spirits from the astral plane. The number of initiations differs for the different branches of Reiki, for the original style of Reiki also called the Usui Reiki or Usui Reiki Ryoho or even just simply Reiho there are four initiations in the First Level, one in the Second Level and a last one for the Master Level after which it is possible for the Master to perform initiations for the First Level or First Degree initiates. The power of an Attunement or Initiation lasts with a person for life; it is not something that can wear away with time.

    What is Reiki

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is the practice of using one's hands to direct and channel the energies, or Ki, of the body , thereby healing the patient. Most schools of Reiki teach that energy has an intelligence of its own and that once it is channeled will automatically work on the part of the body that needs it most.

Reiki was founded in the early 1900s by a Buddhist, Mikao Usui, who, after a long period of fasting and meditation, claimed to hear voices revealing "the keys to healing." Usui then trained several disciples and the practice spread throughout Japan. Heightened interest among Americans in alternative health practices led to the spread of Reiki in the United States in the latter part of the twentieth century.

A typical Reiki session involves the patient lying down on a table or bed and the Reiki practitioner moving his or her hands over or on the body. The patient may feel sensations such as cold, heat or tingling, or they may feel nothing. Reiki practitioners attribute any sensations to the movement of energy through the body. Some practitioners charge for their services and others don't.

Reiki is controversial because there is no governing body that standardizes training and practice and licenses practitioners. There are several different "schools" of Reiki, each teaching slightly different methods and practices. There are Wiccan, Celtic and Tibetan flavors of Reiki, and even one that was developed in the American Southwest. In the most traditional school of Reiki, students must complete three courses before they can become Masters and initiate and train other students. This has led to the rise of internet-based distance courses in Reiki, some of which claim they can train a student in just three days.

Most conventional health practitioners question the efficacy of Reiki. They point out that research does not indicate that it is beneficial and fear that patients with serious diseases will seek Reiki treatment over other, more proven, treatments. However, some have seen some benefit in including Reiki treatments along with more conventional medicine.

Reiki has often been compared to the faith healing or laying on of hands practiced in some Christian churches. Some Reiki practitioners prefer the term "spiritual healing" because the patient does not have to believe in any doctrine for the treatment to work. In fact, they claim that the patient does not have to believe the treatment itself will work in order for it to be effective.

Reiki Energy Healing - How to Learn Reiki Energy Healing

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Dr. Mikao Usui formed the understanding of Reiki the way we know it today. He sums up the study and practice of Reiki Energy Healing this way: "Just for today, do not worry. Just for today, do not anger. Honor your parents, teachers, and elders. Earn your living honestly. Show gratitude to everything." With that simple statement, Reiki Energy Healing training can be understood and attained.

But, like many studies, different schools of thought have arisen about how to carry out the Training, Certification, and Courses designed to "teach" or attune a new student to Reiki Energy.

I have come to believe that the best way to approach Reiki is to get a book or Reiki Energy Healing home course and Perform a Self-Attunement. The process is quite simple if you follow the directions exactly, and any home-course worth it's weight in salt work perfectly.

My experience in both in-person Reiki Attunements and Self-Attunements have taught me that books are at least as good as in-person attunements for four reasons:

    1. Books allows a truly wonderful Master Reiki instructor to attune you when the Reiki instructor may otherwise be booked for months or be in a distant location: Books can get you a better attunement than just the "local" Reiki class.

    2. You can attune yourself and get used to your own power from the get go: The most important part of Reiki attunement is firm belief and practice. I firmly believe that attuning yourself can help you to build both the belief in yourself and the perseverance to practice and develop your Reiki power.

    3. You can go back over the course whenever you feel it necessary: Refresher anyone?

    4. You get to join an online community of others who are learning Reiki right alongside you: A community of people is a resource that truly cannot be matched. You will stick with the practice longer if you have a group of people supporting you and that you support.

Many modern Reiki Energy Healing courses would have you believe that in-person attunements are the only way to go. Obviously, Reiki attunements can be very expensive- particularly if you have to travel to attend them.

If there is a Reiki Master that says you have to be in his or her presence to do an attunement, ask him or her how Dr. Usui originally spread his idea and attuned the first Reiki Students.

The answer is through books. Dr. Usui spread the word of Reiki Attunement through books!

Once you have done your own home Reiki Energy Healing attunement and moved up to Reiki Level 1, 2, or 3, your next step is to find a great Reiki partner.

    But that's another lesson altogether...

Reiki Levels - How to Ascend Reiki Levels Easily

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

When I was first introduced to Reiki energy, I was confused about the process of being attuned and what to expect with each attunement. I wondered... "Will I feel off?", "How long does this take?", "Why should I learn Reiki?", and a whole host of other questions.

With this article, I hope to ease your mind of these and other questions you might have about Reiki Levels. And, at the end of this, I'm going to give you a trick I learned AFTER doing this process that can save you time and money and help you to realize your own power earlier.

Reiki Training usually consists of 4 Reiki Levels which are simply called Reiki Level 1, Reiki Level 2, Reiki Level 3, and Reiki Level 4. Pretty easy to remember, huh?

To process of "Learning" Reiki is actually is process of being "attuned" to the different Reiki Levels. What an outsider may see as a Reiki class is actually more of a ceremony to attune the Reiki student to the next highest level.

In this explanation of Reiki Levels and How to Ascend Reiki Levels Easily, I'm going to tell you a bit about each level and what you can expect.

Reiki Level 1: The class involves and overview of Dr. Usui's (the Reiki Founder) ideas and gets you acquainted to the affirmations you will be using with Reiki. You also learn a few hand positions you can use on yourself or others.

Reiki Level 2: You are introduced to the 3 main Reiki symbols and also how to heal at a distance.

Reiki Level 3 and 4: Many times levels 3 and 4 are done at the same time. In this class, you are taught the Reiki Master Symbol and are given the right to attune others to Reiki Energy as well. Some teachers give additional symbols, but they are not necessary.

So now that you know all the magic behind what happens in each and every class and attunement, I'd like to share with you the trick I mentioned earlier about how to do all of this training quickly and easily. Are you ready?

The trick is that you DON'T need to do this in person. Master Usui originally spread his word through book form with specific instructions on how to Attune yourself and with all the knowledge you need to know to "turn on" your Reiki Energy.

I've done a review of Reiki Home Courses that are just as good, if not better, than most local Reiki teachers can offer. You can find that review of Reiki Home Courses right here.

How to Learn Tibetan Reiki and Get Tibetan Reiki Attunement

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

There are many different branches of Reiki. Tibetan Reiki is one of about ten or so different styles of Reiki, although each style refers to the same Reiki Energy.

As an aspiring student of Tibetan Reiki, I think it would be wise for you to get a good idea of exactly what Reiki Energy is and if being attuned to Reiki energy is something you'd like to do.

Reiki energy is said to be an energy that emanates from the hands. Dr. Usui, who discovered the energy in the early 20th century, says that it is "healing without energy depletion".

A reiki practitioner will make symbols and gestures as well as lay his or her hands on a patient and it is believed that Reiki energy can cure or help most any ailment or disease.

The process of becoming a Reiki Master of Tibetan Reiki is similar to that of becoming a Reiki Master for many of the other branches. It requires one to be attuned to the three reiki levels, one after the other in succession. The attunements each open up the availability for further power of the energy and also special symbols used in healing. At the highest level, a Reiki practitioner is said to be able to heal at a distance and pass on Reiki training to others.

I know that a lot of people aren't going to believe that Reiki Energy exists or can heal, but I personally have seen some startling results. As with most things in life, I tell those who don't believe to try it themselves and then decide, not the other way around.

With the advent of the internet, a strong Reiki community has developed and allows Reiki Self-Attunement and Study at the student's leisure with a Reiki Home Study Course. I do a full review of Reiki Home Study Courses at this website.

Bradley Spencer has spent years with New Age studies and practices meditation and yoga. Having spent a great deal of money and time on Reiki, he helps lead other students to find a program that suits them well.

Do Reiki Healers Channel "Reiki Guides"?

Reiki is an easy to learn method of healing. No special physical or intellectual abilities are required and anybody can learn the art of Reiki healing extremely quickly.

    How Does Reiki work?

I was initiated to Reiki 1 in February 1993. To Reiki 2 a few months later and as a Reiki Master in September 2004. I started teaching towards the beginning of 1995.

When I studied Reiki 1, I asked my Master to explain where the energy was coming from. She told me that Reiki was "Universal Life energy". The energy that is around us. This energy allows trees and plants to grow and allows us to be alive. In those days, my left brain (the analytical one) was still dominant and I needed more explanation. So I asked this Master to show me this energy and she could not. It is in fact easy to show this energy. In my Reiki courses, I teach students how to see the energy field that is around us. This is called the aura. Most students are able to see the first layer of the aura (the etheric field) after only a few seconds.

When I studied Reiki 2, I once again asked my Master where the energy was coming from and pretty much got the same answer. I was baffled by the intelligence in Reiki. Lets work through an example to illustrate this point.

Say you are faced with a Client suffering from headaches. Headaches have many causes. They can be due to poor eyesight, spinal problems, neck tension, constipation etc. Lets assume your Client suffers from constipation and that this is the cause of his headaches. You will treat him with Reiki on the head. However, this may trigger a bowel movement. As such, Reiki has addressed the root of the problem.

The magic of Reiki however does not stop there. Reiki will also try to give him the cause of his constipation. The next day, he may go out and one of his friends explains to him that at last he is no longer constipated as he has changed his diet and is now eating more fibre and less animal food (over simplified for this example). He has his answer. If he ignores it, he may well find himself reading an article in a magazine with a similar explanation a few days later. Eventually, if he keeps on ignoring the messages, they will stop.

    Reiki Guides

This intelligence baffled me. Eventually, I did my Reiki Masters with William Rand from the United States in September 1994. William talked about Reiki guides in his course and this got me interested. Could these guides be the intelligence behind Reiki? When I got back home after the course, I decided to study Spirit Guides and bought a book simply called "Spirit Guides" by Iris Belhayes. This lady channelled her spirit guide who wrote the book through her. A small but very challenging book. I learnt about the theory of "life after death", the process of life in the Spirit world and reincarnation. Fascinating stuff it was for me at the time. I began to believe that the Reiki intelligence was because these Reiki Guides directed the energy in our body.

Then, one day, I got confirmation. I was helping Marie, a friend of mine who had a problem with one knee. Marie was born clairvoyant. During the treatment, she asked me how Reiki works and I told her about "Universal life energy" but also told her about my belief about Reiki guides.

As she was a clairvoyant and could talk to the dead, I asked her to get in a trance and try to "talk" to the guide who was working on her knee. To my amazement, Marie did, and the 40 most amazing minutes of my life started when I had a full conversation with my guide through her.

I asked many questions during this time. Who was my guide? Details of his previous life etc.. We also asked what was wrong with my Marie's knee. He said that the pain and the swelling were due to a bit of cartilage that had come off the patella (kneecap) and was digging into the tibia bone. The guide said that he would be able to get rid of the pain and the swelling but could not remove the bit of cartilage and that surgery would be necessary. This was true. The pain could be controlled but kept coming back.

At one stage during the conversation, my friend said the guide was going to work on me. My descending colon was twisted and he was going to straighten it. Just before she said this, I had felt a pain on the left side of my colon. A short while later, a gurgling noise came out of my intestines and the pain disappeared. My friend said the guide was finished with me and he was coming back to work on her. I was speechless!

Eventually, the prediction came true and my friend had to go to hospital to have the piece of cartilage removed. The surgeon who talked to her after the arthroscopy said: "You had a piece of cartilage that had come off your patella and was digging into your tibia bone.." My friend said :"I know...(but know explaining how she knew)" These 40 minutes were amongst the most amazing in my life and they changed the way I teach Reiki. To me the intelligence in Reiki is due to "Reiki guides".

A Reiki Meditation to meet your Guide

In all my Reiki courses, I offer a simple meditation for students to meet their Reiki guide. I am pleased to say that nowadays most do. Prior to the meditation, I take the students through a relaxation. The meditation journey takes them to a beautiful beach with golden sand, a forest and a waterfall where their guide awaits in he mist. A simple but very effective mediation.

The emotions felt by students who meet their Guides for the first time is extremely satisfying to witness.

This meditation is recorded and offered to students so they can repeat the experience in the comfort of their own home.

    The Reiki Intelligence at work

This happened to me a few years ago and it demonstrates the intelligence in Reiki:

A few years ago, I used to run ITEC qualifying courses in Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and other qualifying courses. One exam day around noon, I went upstairs to my office to get some papers and coming down I slipped on a piles of papers I had left lying on a step. My right hand ring finger caught the banister and I heard a snap.. my fourth metacarpal (the bone just above the ring finger) was not only broken but it had impacted on itself.

My students had waited 6 months to take their exam and I could hardly tell them the day was cancelled as I had broken my metacarpal and I had to go to hospital. Nothing I could do but.. give myself Reiki. I did so between noon and 5.30pm when everybody was gone home and then drove myself to hospital. I had no pain in my hand but it had swollen to a very impressive size. The queue at the hospital was long but on seeing the swelling on my hand, the hospital receptionist called a doctor immediately and then started my first experience of modern medicine since getting seriously ill in 1991.

The doctor confirmed my fourth metacarpal was broken and asked me what pain killers I was taking.. Reiki, I answered.. I explained what Reiki is to him, nearly got him on a course but not quite. The doctor told me he would prescribe some strong pain killers for me but I turned his offer down as I had absolutely no pain. I was sent for X-rays and against my will my hand and arm were plastered. The doctor said I could have surgery, a plate and screws if I wanted to but I refused. I was then sent home.

Impossible to do anything so I kept Reiki-ing myself. The first night, I slept 10 hours which is unheard of for me. A couple of days after the accident, I felt a pain on the lateral part of my hand, on metacarpal 5, underneath my little finger. I knew that this was not where the broken bone was but Reiki would not get rid of that pain so.. I went back to visit my consultant.. "Of course you have a pain" he said, "you have broken a bone". I told him the pain did not come from my broken bone but from beneath my little finger. After arguing the merits of referred pains, he finally agreed to undo my plaster and a lovely bruise was revealed underneath my little finger where the plaster had gone in a lump.

Finally I was sent back for another plaster and this is when I asked my Reiki guide for help. I got to the plaster room and the nurse took my card and said: "Hamouy is your name. Are you the famous lecturer from Gerrards Cross?". I had been called a few names since birth but famous had never been one of them! Anyhow, this nurse was interested in one of my courses and we started chit chatting. Eventually, we talked about my hand and she told me she would make a new plaster. I said I was not keen on a plaster as I was self employed and needed my hands everyday to be able to teach massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology. She laughed but agreed to make a cast (a lengthy process where a type of brown piece of plastic is moulded to the shape of your arm and hand using a hair dryer!!! and acts as a support). I believe the reason they do not offer these to everybody is because it takes too long to mould to shape. Eventually I walked out of the hospital with my new cast.

Getting me back to hospital because of a kink in the plaster is proof of the wonderful intelligence behind Reiki. A bruise that Reiki would not heal and a broken bone that did not cause any pain! For what reason? I believe that this was to get me back to hospital for the cast so I could use my hand much quicker. I have personally experienced this Reiki intelligence many times and heard many stories from my students confirming it. After a week of Reiki, I took the cast off and started using my computer with some of my fingers. A couple of weeks after the accident, I started teaching massage again except for the hacking and cupping strokes. Within 3 weeks, I was teaching Reflexology again and after 4 weeks, my hand was well enough for me to perform most tasks.

The consultant had asked me to come back after 6 weeks for a check up and to take the plaster off. The problem was that I could not find my cast and after extensive research, found it in my youngest son's bedroom as he was using it as a bridge for his cars. I obediently put it back on (as my arm had been supposed to be kept above my heart in a sling for the past 6 weeks) and headed for the hospital.

The consultant looked at my cast with suspicious eyes but did not comment. He laid my hand on his desk and lightly touching the broken bone said: "It's united well". "Yes" I replied. For a while he then looked at my records and my hand obviously puzzled. He then said: "The swelling is gone, that is good". "Yes" I replied. He then said: "Tried to bend your hand like this" and he proceeded to demonstrate what he wanted me to do. This I did at great speed and his mouth collapsed and he got more puzzled. He then asked me to make a fist which I did and told me I would have to go for re-education for several weeks... which I did not.

Another reason I have told you this story is that I believe that if you break a bone, one of the two things may happen.

    • 1- You are taken to hospital very quickly and the bone will not get a chance to set itself, so all is well.
    • 2- For whatever reason, you will not be taken to hospital for quite a while in which case given yourself Reiki may prevent you going into shock and will save on a lot of pain. I also believe that as the guides are intelligent, they will not allow the bone to reset in the wrong place (this is my personal opinion, decide for yourself). I also believe that the Reiki you give yourself will prevent the destruction of many cells and that subsequent recovery will be much quicker.

Understanding Reiki: Part Three - Reiki Training

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

This is the third article in a series designed to clarify and outline Traditional Western Reiki. The previous articles in this series have described what Reiki is; the process of training and attunements and the variations between different systems of Reiki. During this article, you will learn the importance of selecting the right teacher for you. You will also learn what makes a good teacher and what makes a good Reiki training system.

The quality of your Reiki training will usually determine how deeply you experience Reiki and therefore how deeply you value and use the gift you have received. Quality of Reiki training varies from comprehensive training teaching you advanced, powerful uses of Reiki and full post-training support all the way down to lumping all levels in one weekend course or worse, all level attunements on-line with little or no support or training at all. Until you know your options, you will not know what questions to ask and what to look for when selecting your Reiki teacher.

There are several considerations when looking for the right teacher and training for you. The first is the teacher herself. Consider her passion, interest and confidence in Reiki. Listen to her talk about Reiki and what it can do. Listen to your own feelings, how do you feel about her, do you feel comfortable? Do you feel respected? Do you like her? Remember that with a good teacher, this relationship may be going to last a long time so choose someone who inspires confidence in her ability and knowledge as a Reiki practitioner and teacher.

The other aspect of training to consider is the set-up of the Reiki system itself. Make sure the teacher holds to a system that teaches each level separately. A good Reiki Master/teacher knows the value of each level. Each Reiki level has it's own importance. In the next few paragraphs I will outline the different levels and it will become clear why it is so important to do each level separately.

    Level One

During level one you are introduced to the energy, you begin developing your relationship with it, learning how to work with it, feeling it move through your body, and seeing how it feels to do Reiki on yourself and others. This is important for a deep relationship with this beautiful energy. In good quality training you will learn how to perform the one hour treat on yourself (the most important treatment you can learn) and also how to perform the 1 hour treatment on others including professional presentation and ethics. You will learn other treatments and uses as well. For the professional trainer, this should fit into a 2 day course. The four attunements themselves are usually held over 2 days, each one opening and locking chakras into place, with time enough between attunements to allow your system to adjust and settle in it's new space. The training and attunements are followed by a 21 day cleanse during which your energy system shakes out a lot of negative energy that can no longer remain in your system.

    Level Two

There should be at least 2 months between levels One and Two. By the time you are ready to do level two, you will have good experience with Reiki and you will be ready to take this much further. Also, your vibration level will be much higher as a result of your previous attunements and 21 day cleanse. Level two is also a two day course during which you will receive another attunement which once again raises your vibration significantly and attunes you to three of the four Reiki symbols. Over the two day training you will learn each one of the symbols, how to work with them and what they do. Reiki Masters have a comprehensive bundle of tools to teach you and it does take two days (at least) for a reasonable amount of training to flow. Once again you will go through a 21 day cleanse as your vibration is now even higher and therefore there is more negative energy to get rid of.

    Level Three

At this level there are variations depending on the teacher. I will write this separating Personal Mastery and Master Teacher (as level three and level four), however, understand that sometimes the two are combined. Most people don't go beyond levels one or two. For those of you who do, it is usually recommended that you wait at least 6-12 months prior to taking on Level Three. During Personal Mastery, you are given your final attunement. This is a two day course during which you are taught powerful personal and healing tools to expand your skill and prepare you for your final 21 day cleanse. You may also be taught and attuned to another Reiki system such as Seichim to support your journey. This 21 day cleanse can be quite powerful and you will be grateful for the new tools to help you through.

    Level Four

At this fourth and final level your are taught a massive amount of information and practice to ready you to be a Reiki Master Teacher. You are taught each level from a teachers perspective, how to attune, what to teach, how to design and write your student manuals, teacher manuals, courses and support. You will learn about the ethics, boundaries and honour of being a Master Teacher. You will (depending on your training) be required to complete the design and training of your level one course and implement this work on someone wanting to be taught level one Reiki. This level and quality of training does not have a time frame, it is taken one step at a time and upon completion, you will be a Reiki Master Teacher.

Whilst there are some Reiki teachers who attune you to all levels of Reiki in a weekend, it has been my experience that many if not most of those students go on to either never/hardly use their Reiki again, or seek out more comprehensive training and attunements.

Having read the outlines of good quality comprehensive training, it becomes clear that it is well worth the investment of your time and money to choose quality training over the cheaper approach. With all Reiki training, prices range from free to thousands of dollars. It is definitely worth your effort seeking out a reasonable price range vs quality training suitable for you. Whilst researching you may be pleasantly surprised at the range of services and prices. For example, if you are comfortable studying long distance, you can find some very good quality training on-line. Look for someone who offers quality training on-line, separate level attunements and comprehensive support. All in all you can have a powerful Reiki experience if you take the time to find the right training and the right teacher for you.

There is one more article left in this series, during which you will learn about the different types of healing listed under the Reiki banner and what it all means to the Reiki student.

Reiki Practitioners: Choose Your Reiki Practitioner Wisely

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

The Reiki practitioner and you should have good understanding. Until and unless you understand what the Reiki practitioner is trying to do, you will not be able to receive the energies he is trying to give you. You should be able to develop faith in the healings the Reiki practitioner is trying to give.

Do not hesitate to ask lots of questions to the Reiki practitioner before you join him. Ask him about the techniques he uses, his practice and his experience.

If you are a female,it is always advisable to go to a female Reiki practitioner as you would feel much comfortable as he does Reiki for you.

Beware of the Reiki practitioners who bargains. They claim to give you treatment or teaching in smaller time according to your convenience. This type of Reiki programs offered by Reiki practitioners will leave you frustrated and also you will not benefit from such Reiki practitioners.

It is very important that you check in advance that the Reiki practitioner has roots that extend to the founder of Reiki Mikao Usui in one way or the other.

Ask your considered Reiki practitioner if they have ongoing treatments of other clients. A good Reiki practitioner will see a client for about six to eight visits and heal him. Fraud and inefficient Reiki practitioners see clients for years and extract money from them.

Always remember that an efficient Reiki practitioner accepts that Reiki has contradictions and should be free to discuss this with his clients. As an example, if the client has a pacemaker attached then he should tell the client that Reiki could alter the speed of the pacemakers. If he claims that there are no contradictions, then he is not an efficient Reiki practitioner and can play with your health for his profit.

How to Learn Reiki and Become a Reiki Master

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

Reiki is a spiritual and physical healing practice that helps individuals overcome health issues and produce stress management in their lives. Reiki has been used for healing since the end of the last century, but is still growing in popularity today. Listed below are the steps to take if you desire to learn Reiki and become a Reiki Master.

There are three levels of Reiki that must be completed in order to become a Reiki Master. These are the First Degree level, the Second Degree level, and the Master/Teacher, or Third Degree, level. Each level is explained below.

    First Degree Reiki

In the First Degree level of Reiki, you'll learn how Reiki works, Reiki's historical background, and the different types of Reiki systems that exist today. You'll also be initiated into Reiki and receive your first Reiki energy experience through Reiki Attunement.

Through Reiki Attunement, you'll learn first-hand how to tune in to Reiki energy and use it for stress management and physical and emotional healing. This initiation usually involves lying on your back or stomach while a Master or practitioner places his or her hands from your head to toes to approximate the traditional chakra locations. The energy flows through the Master's hands into your body.

Although much training is provided through home courses and online courses, you should receive your Reiki Attunement through a Master in person to fully understand Reiki. Once you've experienced Reiki for yourself, you'll start learning how to give others Reiki treatments.

    Second Degree Reiki

In the Second Degree level of Reiki, you'll expand on your initial experiences. You'll learn about distance healing as well. Distance healing involves channeling Reiki energies to someone in another town or even another country! The energy vibration is different with this type of Reiki. It has a higher proportion of energy from the Source and a lower proportion of Chi than the First Degree level. Where the First Degree level promotes primarily physical healing, the Second Degree level promotes healing on a mental, spiritual and emotional level.

Master/Teacher Reiki or Third Degree Level

In the Master/Teacher, or Third Degree, level of Reiki, you'll learn how to use Reiki symbols and what they mean. You'll also learn how to use various methods of stress management such as healing drumming and crystal healing with crystals. You'll become familiar with sacred mantras and how the different energies work so you can teach others. You'll also be able to perform Reiki Attunements.

There are many workshops, online and off-line, to help you learn Reiki. There are also places you can go to have a wonderful Reiki experience, such as the Bell Rock Vortex in Sedona, Arizona. Wherever you go or whomever you choose to help you along the Reiki journey, make sure to open yourself fully to the Reiki energy so you can experience its true healing power.

Reiki Principles & Reiki History Not Always Agreed Upon

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

There are many different English versions of the Reiki principles, just as there are different versions of Reiki history. Some versions of the principles are more eloquently written than others, but the basic concepts are, for the most part, the same.

Reiki history begins in Japan in the early 1920s, when a man named Mikao Usui (the name is reversed in Japanese) opened a school or dojo, a Japanese word that can refer to any training facility, not just one for martial arts training. The term literally means “place of the Way”.

Some versions of Reiki history say that the man’s name was Usui Sensei, but sensei is actually a Japanese title of respect, used to refer to a teacher, doctor or other professional. Misunderstandings of the translation of “sensei” may be why some refer to him as Dr. Usui.

The origin of the Reiki principles is somewhat unclear. Usui may have been inspired by the writings or poetry of the Meiji Emperor, who reigned during most of his life. In the moral principles outlined in the “Imperial Rescript on Education”, subjects are instructed to “be good and kind to all”.

He may have been inspired by a book written in 1914 by Dr. Bizan Suzuki, in which this phrase is written; “Just for today, do not get angry, do not feel fear, be honest, work hard, and be kind to others.”

According to one account, attributed to a woman (Tenon-in) who said that she worked in the dojo from 1920 until 1926, the inspiration for the Reiki principles came to Usui on a day in 1921 after he visited Mt. Hiei, the location of a Buddhist temple lying to the northeast of Kyoto city. Other sources say that his moment of inspiration came during a fast on Mount Kurama, the location of a Shinto temple lying to the northwest of Kyoto.

One version of Reiki history has Usui teaching Christian theology at Doshisha University in Kyoto. So, even the religion of the man is a matter of some debate. The discrepancies probably relate to the various religions of those who came to practice and teach Reiki following Usui’s death.

Tenon-in said that the original scroll containing the Reiki principles still hangs on the wall of a private shrine kept secret from the public. Secrets are part of the reason that Reiki history is so unclear. According to one author, the first line of the scroll containing the Reiki principles is a heading that reads, “The secret method of inviting blessings.” Even from the early days, many Reiki masters took this to mean that the method of healing with the hands taught by Usui was to be kept “secret”.

It really makes no difference which version of Reiki history a person chooses to believe. The energy has been here since the beginning of time, Usui simply gave the energy a name; Reiki.

It makes no difference which version of the Reiki principles that a person chooses to follow. One that is eloquently written is no more effective than the one which we prefer “Today, don’t get angry, don’t worry, be grateful, work hard and be kind to others.” To learn more, please visit http://understanding-reiki.com/.

Camping out with Reiki - Developing your Personal Reiki Practice

    >> CLICK HERE To Learn Reiki From Two Highly Experienced Usui Reiki Masters

    Let’s go camping.

(If you have never been camping before then we recommend you suspend your disbelief and we’ll attempt to conjure up a likely image for you.)

It’s a gorgeous day, you’ve been wandering through the bush for a couple of hours looking for the perfect camping spot (yes, let’s make it an Australian camping story). You startle a wallaby as you turn a corner and she hops away as fast as her powerful legs can carry her. The white cockatoos screech at each other from towering gum trees and the exotic scent of sweet wattle hangs in the warm air.

    Ahhh this is the life.

You’re searching for the perfect camping spot; one that will keep you safe and warm throughout the night.

On the other side of a great red boulder you finally see it… a clearing at the edge of a deep, vast valley with an uninterrupted panorama as far as the eye can see of the wild Australian bush and its turquoise sky.

At the centre of the clearing you notice a small clump of ashes with a log lying nearby that will be perfect for a fireside seat; you realise that someone has camped here before. This is always a good sign. You are not the first to have chosen this path, it must hold some merit.

You walk to the edge of the precipice. Breathe in deeply. You’re ready. All the equipment you need is in your backpack, you just have to make sure you use it correctly.

    ****************

Camping out could easily become an analogy for the wonderful world of Reiki. Or have we been too obvious already? Probably.

Choose your Reiki path with care. Will the course offer you the tools you need, will it build your independence and yet highlight a path that has shown itself to be successful for others?

    Back to the story….

    ******************

You are at your chosen camping spot. While it is still light you begin to unpack your backpack. You have everything you thought you would need as well as all those things that your friends and the camping store had recommended. Most importantly you have the basic elements of nourishment, water, shelter, your torch and … for an emergency your charged up mobile.

But there is something special that you require when you go camping out overnight that you can’t buy. It’s something only you can make.

    ******************

Back in the world of Reiki you’ve paid for your course and you are being taught the basic elements of the system; hand positions, techniques and meditations, symbols and mantras, and precepts. You receive *reiju and you begin to feel ready to start your practice.

But there’s something more to this as well …

    ******************

    Fire.

Building a good Reiki practice is like building a great campfire.

First of all your practice needs to be ignited. Without ignition the fire doesn’t burn and there is no promise of future warmth or wisdom.

Obviously, you need good solid material to begin your fire with - kindling, dry matches and the perfect position. If all you hold in your hand is a pretty piece of paper, it will go up in flames in seconds leaving you with a smattering of uninspiring black ash and sore fingers.

Ignition is therefore a direct result of your experience during a quality Reiki course. Something catches alight when you bring together the basic elements of the system along with an accomplished teacher and your fellow students. This magical combination creates an environment predisposed to fire.

It might be during the practice of *hatsurei ho or when you receive reiju that combustion point is reached; you glimpse a sense of inner peace or perhaps feel momentarily connected to everyone and everything in the room or, more intensely, the universe.

You have been gifted with a promise. This promise is a transaction between you and something deep inside you that is normally covered with a thick veneer of society. You have just been offered a view of something that is beyond imagining; beyond your daily routine of work, recreation and sleep. But it is up to you to fulfil the promise.

Do you want that sense of inner peace to return again and more regularly?

Imagine continuing the experience of connectedness with everyone and everything? Do you want to try to be always moving with the flow of the universe and simply Being?

Now you can. Your fire has been ignited.

You must, however, feed it. Go gather more sticks, keep your fire burning.

At your course your teacher hands you something to take away. A practice and full support. Know that if you practice too little - your fire will go out. At times of doubt grab for that lifeline of support - or else you will forget the promise and your Reiki course will become nothing more than a pleasant memory.

Extend your given practice from 5 minutes a day to 10 and so on. Be aware of balance in your practice; some days you need a bit more and other a little less. It all depends upon your inner barometer and you are paying attention now, tending your fire.

So find yourself a comfortable spot near your great campfire that will warm you, feed you and light your way through the dark night. Build the fire gradually with the appropriate size logs until its constant white heat warms your inner soul. This spot will be like no other – it is individual to you.

Sitting at ease on your log, you notice the firelight flickering against the mottled trunk of a nearby tall tree. You are reminded that the grand gum trees of the Australian bush purposefully litter the ground with their leaves to encourage fire. Fire offers this unique flora regeneration. It is when the perfect combination of eucalyptus oil and dry heat unite, combustion occurs and the bush is caught in the renewing force of fire.

Enjoy the night sky, watch the stars sparkle in the heavens and sip your *billy tea.

It is humanity’s innate ability to find peace within. Foster the right conditions, keep the fire of practice burning like a wonderfully controlled campfire, and enjoy the fruits of life in action.

    GLOSSARY

*Reiju: In Japan, reiju is the name given to the method a teacher uses in order to communicate with individual students on an energetic level. In the process of moving from Japan to the West, reiju changed a number of its aspects including its name. In the West its altered form is usually known as an attunement, initiation or transformation.

*Hatsurei Ho: You will find versions of this technique here, in The Japanese Art of Reiki.

*Billy tea: Billy tea is created in a billy can or billy. This is a traditional Australian utensil for making tea over a fire. It is a cylindrical can with a lid. A stick is poked under its wire handle to enable easy movement on or off the fire. How to make Billy Tea: Pour water into a billy can, place in fire and wait for it to boil. Remove from fire and add a couple of teaspoons of black tea. Hold the billy by its handle and swing in a great arching circle from the ground to the sky a number of times. The pressure of the fast movement ensures that the tea remains in the billy and doesn’t end up all over you. Let it sit briefly before pouring. This unusual process ensures that the tea leaves settle well, yielding up a delicious cup of billy tea without having to use a strainer. Mmm mmm.

Crystal Reiki: How to Expand Your Reiki Practice with Crystals

The use of crystals is not essential for Reiki, however, many people are drawn to using crystals for healing and enjoy integrating crystals with their Reiki practices.

Here are some recommendations if you are trying to decide which crystals to use in Reiki. You will want a different crystal for each chakra. You can place the crystals either on or near the body. For the crown, consider quartz crystal. For the forehead, a dark blue or purple such as amethyst would be appropriate. A blue green or light blue, like aquamarine or blue lace agate, can be used for the throat area. On the heart area, try green tourmaline or a pink crystal like rose quartz. The solar plexus area can benefit from a chartreuse or coral color. Use peridot, malachite, or moonstone. A gold color works well on the abdominal area. Try tiger’s eye or amber. Finally, the pelvic area benefits from a deep color so use hematite, garnet, or obsidian.

Another way you can incorporate crystals into your Reiki practice is to set up a Crystal Grid. Choose some crystals that you will use to make a pattern and you can then place this pattern under the Reiki table or chair. The first step after choosing your crystals is to cleanse them. After cleansing them, hold them one by one and focus on making the crystal a channel for the Reiki energy to flow through. If you are a level one practitioner, simply focus on channeling your energy into the crystal. If you are level two, you may use the symbols that you have learned to channel the Reiki energy into the crystals.

After you have channeled energy into the crystals, place them in a pattern. A simple pattern to use is the Star of David pattern. In this layout, place the crystals as the points of a Star of David with one each for the foot and the head and the other four points as the hips and shoulders.

Feel free to experiment with different patterns until you find one that works well with you. Nothing with crystals is written in stone. If you channel Reiki for others, encourage them to bring their favorite crystals to the session, or allow them to choose amongst yours. Having something concrete to concentrate on aids the beginner and the advanced alike in visualizing and focus. If you know what issues they are feeling, you can guide them to an appropriate crystal. For example, suggest amethyst for someone who is suffering from anxiety.

Although crystals and Reiki are not traditionally used together, more and more people are finding that they complement one another. If you are looking to expand your Reiki practice, incorporating crystals can be a fun way to further attune yourself to the universal energy.
