The word "Reiki" is broken down into the two terms "Rei" and "Ki." It is difficult for some Japanese words to be translated into English. Having said this, it is important to understand the context of the term.
The word "Reiki" is used to denote a form of spiritual healing. Probably one of the best ways to describe Reiki is by the energy that is channeled through the practice. Energy is the central concept of Reiki, and all those who wish to learn this skill must become familiar with it. Ki can be defined as the energy that resides within all living organisms. This is not a physical form of energy. However, it will flow in living things like animals and plants.
When a human has a large amount of Ki, they will have excessive amounts of strength and confidence. They are much more likely to enjoy life, and they will be quick to face any challenges that are presented to them. However, once the Ki becomes small, a person will begin to feel weak. It is at this point that they will have a greater chance of becoming sick.
Ki will come from a wide variety of sources, and some of these are sunlight, food, and the air we take in. Many people will also meditate in order to enhance their Ki even more. Ki is called "Chi" in Chinese languages, and it is the same thing that is called the "life force" in the West.
Those who practice Reiki believe that Reiki taps into a life force that is guided by a superior intelligence. The energy seems to have a mind of its own, as it will flow to the places where a patient needs it the most.
The energy used with Reiki is not something that can be controlled by the mind. If it was, it would be limited by those who practice it. Those who practice Reiki believe that the source of healing is primarily caused by the Ki. The Ki will flow around and within the patient. The tissues and organs that it touches will become healthy, because they will become energized.
One interesting thing that should be noted about Ki is that it will react to the feelings and thoughts of those it comes into contact with. The strength of the Ki will be dependent on the thoughts. Negative thoughts will lead to the restriction of the Ki flow, while positive thoughts will lead to the increased flow of Ki. If your thoughts are too unhealthy, the flow of Ki may be completely disrupted altogether.
While the mainstream medical establishment has been slow to adopt any of the ideas that are used with practices such as Reiki, a number of doctors now admit that the mind will play a powerful role in generating an illness. This is something that Reiki practitioners have known for years.
The power of the mind will extend throughout the body, so it is logical to believe that it would have an effect on the physical well being of a person.
Energy is an important concept that you must understand if you wish to learn Reiki. You must understand the function of the aura, an energy field that surround the body. Reiki practitioners believe that the aura is an extension of the mind that goes beyond the body.
